After watching Wlad detroy Peter in a 10 one sided rounds with surgical precision; two things resonated with me in that fight. The first is the KO; which I personally think could have happened in the first fight. And second is the surprisingly competitive first round.

It got me thinking, Peter's "Joe Frazier" rendition in the first round with the bobbing and weaving made it competitive for a while but Sam simply lacks the athleticism and conditioning to make it effective over the course of the fight. Well he also lacks the skill set, but I'm more interested in the effectiveness of the style.

As for the title, who wins in this fantasy match up.

Frazier. Wlad won't be able to handle the pressure Joe brings and he'll **** his pants somewhere in the middle rounds.

    Yes, Frazier would have won.

He would have had the tools to pull off what Peter tried to unsucessfuly.

Frazier was superb in avoiding a great and even faster jab than Wlad´s. This is what would decide the fight.

I´m astonished that you thought the first round was competative. Peter landed exactly one punch.

Sam Peter didn't do anything similar to Frazier and no round was close.

Frazier KO Wlad in 5 (...no bias)

Speaking in hindsight it was as competitive as Sam Peter would ever get with Wlad. I never claimed he won the round, I just think he gave a better account for himself than I initially expected.

Yes he did. When the round started I though "damned, he may have a chance". 20 seconds later the illusion vanished.

Actually the first round was competitive but not close.

And What Sam Peter tried to do in the first round, bobbing and weaving while advancing forward and trying to counter with a left hook looked like it was a Joe Frazier impression.

Smokin Joe uses his great head movement to get under Wlad's jab to work the body and not give Wlad the distance he needs, I see Frazier setting him up for the left hook.

    Frazier By 5 Rd KO

Frazier did not have Peter's chin, and essentially was a one punch type of fighter who was much smaller and lacked range. Wlad is a master at keeping optimal range.

While I would give Frazier's a very good puncher's chance, he was too easy to hit, and did not have a good enough chin to hold up to power punchers.

Don't think for a moment that Wlad could not man handle Frazier in a clinch. He sure would.

    Wlad TKO.

No. Frazier makes Vitali quit on his stool, or TKO's him.

Wlad-Frazier is much closer, but I like Fraziers non stop presssure and left hook to put Wlad into panic mode...and break him down for the stoppage win. Wlad does have the two fisted power to blast out frazier early.
