....but I'll tell you right now, if he fights Juan Manuel Lopez, he will absolutely get knocked the **** out. These are two are at two totally different skill and power levels. Gamboa is gradeschool and Lopez is college level in the school of hard knocks.
I don't think the gap is as big as you think. Salido is no joke. I've never been one of those who said Gamboa was way too good for JuanMa (I think JuanMa is better) but I won't make the mistake the other way either. I think the division is **** hot and very competitive.
It seems like most ESBers always base their predictions on recent performances. Almost everyone was calling JuanMa a breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Gamboa after his (Gamboa's) performance against Mtagwa. It's not always about "what have you done for me lately?".
Gamboa, despite all his flaws, is a wrecking ball. He will overwhelm JuanMa and take him to a place he's never been before before drowning him.
Should the two ever meet, let us revisit this thread OK? If Gamboa wins, I will be a lot more receptive to pro-Gamboa rhetoric, otherwise, this guy Gamboa has just hit the canvas too many times. Lopez gets a guy hurt bad enough when he hits the canvas, Lopez fiunishes him.
I was shocked at how much bigger JML appeared to be in the recent photo of the two of them. Gamboa's handspeed and power will give JML nightmares but as for the winner of the fight...can't call it.
If Gamboa wins, feel free to dig this thread up and shove it up my ass. Sorry, but I feel very confident that I will not have to eat crow on this one.
Indeed should they meet we can revist this thread. While I respect JuanMa and I think he's a really good fighter, Gamboa wins this fight. I base this on the fact Gamboa is simply more gifted and naturally talented than JuanMa. Gamboa is a winner it's all he's ever known and to this point he hasn't been pushed to be as good as he can be, but when he is pushed whoever he fights will reach their "ceiling" before Gamboa will, hence he will always have the ability to go up a notch from where ever his opponent takes him. That being said, sure JuanMa could stop him but this could be said either way, and I also recognize that when comparing two fighters of this caliber that the margin of difference isn't very wide. I just think Gamboa has the faster hands, and simply possess greater gifts than JuanMa, JMO.
I respect your opinion and all who have responded to this thread. At this point it looks like me against the world, I seem to be the only JML cheerleader (or nutthugger) here. This makes it all the more sweeter when JML KO's Gamboa. Any clue if this matchup is actually in the works in the near future?
And that is d perception, Gamboa has visited the canvas in five occasions, I'll said three of those has been phantom they never happened, a ref miss, and the other two has been flash knockdows, the ones that if you go all out it could get you in trouble, because he is not being hurt. And lets talk about Juanma, he was out on his feet against Matgwa, I meant out! if Mtagwa was the one in that shape, the ref would had stop the fight, because the only thing holding him was the ropes, had you ever seen Gamboa in that kind of shape? and last time out he got really hurt by Concepcion, a crude fighter with almost no technique.
The Ali-loses-to-Frazer...Frazer-gets-KTFO-by-Foreman-therefore- Foreman-will-KTFO-Ali formula has been proven to be less than dependable. I'm glad Lopez was taken to decision with Mtgawa while Gamboa devestated mtgawa in 2 rounds; it will make my accurate prediction I'm making now that more amazing when and if the Gam-Lopez fight happens.
Note to self: -Flash knockdowns by Gamboa, but not senseless. -JML on ***** street 2X's verses Conseption and Mtagwa. This facts have been recorded and noted in my database, if I change my position I will inform you here in this thread. Good info, thanks.
