People round here don't like picking modern fighters over greats they have fond memories of. All the same Wlad doesn't hit quite as hard as Foreman and isn't nearly as aggressive plus Wlad has had problems with pressure at times. I agree Wlad should still win
I have no idea who hits harder....i think wlad doesnt get as many early KO's..but that might have allot to do with his more cautious style....but i wouldnt be supprised if foreman does hit harder...but another factor was how foreman was able to push Joe back. By all reports Klitschko is freaskly strong..and could do the same. plus Joe would have even more reach to have to try to get past.
dude i love the klitschkos..but come on....that was war in which both guys took a crazy number of shots....Klitschko was pulled out...yes with a shoulder injury..but it was aganst ****ing chris byrd. plus the corner stopped Joe....Vitali pulled his own plug.
It was but a jab at the king Vitali Klitschko hater of the classic section, but I did not see Joe protest too much when Futch closed the show.
I haven't seen enough of Frazier's career to pick, but simply picking Frazier by way of era isn't right. You can be sure Wlad would get Frazier into a clinch whenever he tries to fight inside, Wlad has comparable power to Foreman, but is 25lbs bigger than Foreman and 7" taller than Frazier
Frazier would definitely be able to get on the inside and land big left hooks. Frazier's constantly bobbing and weaving would put Wlad on the back foot which takes away a large portion of his power and his ability to dictate range. And Wlad has never been in with anyone as good as Frazier.
Both sides those who think Frazier would take it easy and those who think Wlad would do so, are morons. This will be a hard fought fight in which both are in with a good chance to win. I like Frazier and pointed out why earlier but it won´t be easy for him.
Frazier TKO6 Wlad. A peak Frazier would be an especially elusive small target as he relentlessly bobbed & weaved his way in to land debilitating left hooks to the body. By the middle rounds, I see a Wlad who has been worn-down by accumulation of powerful body punches & dropped at least once previously, being stopped while helpless on the ropes. For Wlad to win, he needs a referee who permits a ridiculous amount of excessive clinching & leaning, every minute of every round.
I agree with this sentiment, tho my pick would be Wlad by late stoppage. Neither Waldo or Smokin Joe walks into any ring, in any era, as a prohibitive underdog.
