Idiot, the only time Frazier did not have chin was vs. Foreman. The Klit's don't hit as hard as Foreman. Frazier would be able to slip and slide many of the slow ass Klit's attack and find his hooks to the body and eventaully the chin. Goodnight Klit! Either Klit.
Over 4 or more rounds, Wlad has a better offense than George. The sustained punishment he delivers is severe. Please to note the many opponents whose careers nosedived after facing him as they were broken for top level fighting. He delivers long, sustained beatings. You have to derail his game plan to derail this inevitability. I see Frazier being able to do this in the early moments when Wlad tries to clinch. With Fraziers upper body mobility and quick hooks hecould seriously derail the one-two clinch program of Waldo.
I don't like Frazier against Wlad or Lewis, both are accurate big men who hit hard enough to hurt him and his lack of physical power would mean they could push him around or clinch him to death. Frazier frustrated by Ali's hit and hold strategy in their second bout. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzhcpM2rDjk&feature=related[/ame] Frazier's hard night against Bugner (and a great video as well) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxazy9pwlzg[/ame] I would take Frazier over Vitali however, his questionable punching power would let Joe go to work in a long brutal fight.
Frazier of '71 gets clipped by Wlad Klit of '10........... And remember, Frazier is only 27 yrs old, while Wlad Klit is 34.... Age not a factor here.... NO! Wlad Klit smokes Frazier like a Thai stick.... Hardcore......... MR.BILL
Right, because he has a proven history of standing in there and punching against pressure fighters, timing fast head movement etc.
don't agree. wlad has excellent one punch power in each hand. he wouldve been the second hardest puncher Joe faced.
So voluntarily quitting, against a cream puff with little power, with the fight won, when you're in no danger whatsoever, simply because "it hurts too much" - that demonstrates more heart than being pulled out, against your will, against the GOAT, whilst practically blind and risking being beaten to death? Yeah, glad the myth of Frazier's heart has been well and truly laid out here. What a ***** the man was.
Frazier applies too much pressure, the pace he would set would have Wlad gassed in 6 and eventually stop Wlad in 9.
Are you tryng to say Vitali has more heart the Frazier. The only thing that could top that is someone claiming Ezzrad Charles was a brawler.
Frazier by systematic destruction. If Peter can look like Frazier against Wlad it shows Wlad telegraphs and can become quite predictable. Wlad can definitely hurt and seriously trouble Frazier but Wlad doesn't like to site down on his punches when fighters are rushing at him. He seems to choice speed and not to string combinations in order to avoid getting countered or hit. Frazier would not only bust Wlad to the body and bang hooks upstairs while rushing forward but he could also counter the hell out of Wlad's right hand. The only way Wlad would win if this was set in 2010 in Germany, and even that's not guaranteed. Any other place and time with Arthur Mercante or some renown referee that wouldn't allow Wlad to turn octopus and Frazier would win. Absolutely... last fight just confirmed that with me. In fact, I think Toledo Dempsey has a fairly good chance too after the last Wlad fight I watched.
I like how you cannot do a H2H thread for either Klitschko without someone coming in and acting like you asked about both. Inevitably someone says blah blah blah "the Klits"... They are not the same fighter. They don't even act like the same fighter. They don't have the skill set or body of work or approach.
I'm interested in seeing it from a styles perspective. Do you think that Frazier has the style to beat Wlad but simply lacks the durability? Or do you think that Wlad's style is all wrong for "Frazier Type" fighters.
Your right Frazier did'nt have Peters chin, he had a better one (and don't even try to use the Foreman fight as an example to suggest otherwise because that was the hardest punching baddest mother****er ever steamrolling ahead throwing everything with the intention to destroy the man, not a counter punching hard hitter taking his time waiting for the right moment, while using long periods of clinches to rest and slow the pace) How is Frazier a one punch type fighter, When he threw an average of 60 - 80 punches, with left and right hooks constanly to the body, jabbing on the way inside, while using his great left hook usualy followed by a short overhand right. Lacked range? It did'nt stop him from cornering and trapping every slickster he fought and force them to fight off the ropes for sustained periods of the fight.
Wlad and Frazier would be interesting. I would give Wlad a good chance as he would probably be stronger than Frazier and could very well tie him up on the inside, and work his jab at distance. Much would depend on how well Wlad could deal with the pressure, and how mentally strong he was on the night. Vitali is another story altogether. Very similar result to Frazier Foreman. With Frazier's come forward style, I think Vitali puts him away inside 6.
