Just because the formula didn't work with ALi-Foreman-frazier, it doesn' mean is not going to work with Gamboa, beside I'm not talking about perfomance here, we all know what happens, it is the chin the one I'm referring to, Gamboas detractors always make reference to the times Gamboa has been down, they never mention that he has never being hurt, Juanma on the other hand has being Kod on his feet, but like always Juanmas fans had selective memory, back in the 80's a fighter called Pryor use to go down against anyone with a decent punch, he is an ATG and in the 90's one of my favorites Tito will visit the canvas just for fun, he is an ATG.
Juanma's power will trouble Gamboa early, but Gamboa will go into another gear later on in the fight and will win.
That's what makes this fight so compelling. During last night's fight you couldn't help but wonder "imagine what Juanma would be doing to Gamboa right now"... but the opposite crosses your mind during Penalosa/Juanma, Mtawga/Juanma.
We cannot forget that. Unless JML improves his defense Gamboa has a very good chance of knocking him down.
The fact that the triangle formula hasn't quite been 100% in boxing history is what makes this JuanMa vs. Gamboa fight so interesting and anticipated. The fight is almost a pick 'em type fight... but I'm sticking with my prediction that I made last year when I said Gamboa will get a late KO/TKO over JuanMa, when and if they do battle.
Will this matchup interest anyone other thant he hardcore boxing fan? I hope so. Will it be Mayweather - Pacman lite?
Quoted for truth. I personally don't think JML can't handle Gamboa's speed, strenght and punching power. I just doubt his boxing IQ sometimes and wether or not he'll fight the kind of fight I think he needs to beat Gamboa. I really do think Juanma should be able to stop Gamboa if he fights smart.
Juanma cocks his left. I can envision Gamboa, with his tremendous hand speed, capitalizing on the deficiency; more so than I see Juanma taking advantage of Gamboa's defensive lapses.
As am I. In response to someone above asking about will it only be "hard core" fans that take interest and will it be Pac-May like. Yes hard core fans will be down, casual fans would be down if they were exposed to the fight, which is why boxing has to get a television contract in which their good young fighters can be exposed to the general public. This would be a helluva fight, and one I would look very forward to.
