What fights embody hard fought wins? Such fights usually show unbelievable heart and a great ability to will their way to a win, two qualities somewhat overlooked when potential H2H matchups are discussed.

A few that come to mind...

    Wilfredo Gomez against Lupe Pintor.
    Saman Sorjaturong over Humberto Gonzalez.

Riddick Bowe against Andrew Golota, both times.

Jorge Castro against John David Jackson.

    Archie Moore against Yvon Durelle.

    Ali against Frazier, third fight.

One of my favorites is Arguello vs Escalera I The Bloody battle of Bayamon

Arguello started fast and dropped Escalera early (probably round 2 or 3)...Escalera digs deep and starts to swing the fight into his favor...around 7 or 8 Arguello's punches were starting to take effect. Just when it looked like escalera was done around the 10th he found more energy and took the momentum back and it looked like Arguello was lucky to even survive the 12th..in the 13 Arguello stroms out and batters Escalera...Mercante stops it in the 13th and calls it the most brutal fight he ever officiated....Great fight

So I guess you don't consider Frazier's pressure and his left hooks to be much of a threat then ? Check out 0:48 of this clip. That left hook would have dropped many others. Yet George just shakes it off to put on a devastating performance.
