I haven't seen it in a while either, I remember being disappointed with Lennox's over-caution though.

Lewis performance vs Rahman was a brilliant display of tactics and firepower.

Because the thread is called "...performance" not "...win". The fight was stopped because of cuts, that obviously doesn't mean the cut fighter's performance was not great.

but still he didn't win the fight so i can't see why it would be a great performance when he didn't win, when all the rest in the poll did win.

    Eh? :huh

You honestly don't understand the difference between the word "performance" and the word "win"?

Just because someone loses, it doesn't mean it wasn't a great performance. Take a look at all the great boxing trilogies...just because Morales lost against Barrera, and vice versa...it doesn't mean it wasn't a great performance. And I'm not comparing Lewis Vitali to Barrera Morales, but ofcourse someone can put on a good/great performance and still lose.

*Vitali was ahead on the scorecards...and I don't usually defend this because after all Lewis was still the one with his arm raised at the end of the bout. But up to the point when the bout was stopped, Vitali was putting on a good enough performance to win the bout...whether Lewis was coming back or not. *

I really liked the underdog Sanders demolition of Wlad. Sanders wasn't supposed to stand a chance against the imposing, younger, bigger, stronger Wlad and Sanders left many people shocked. I'd seen him fight before especially the Rahman fight which was great also, but never that aggressive like he was with Wlad. That version of Sanders that night would of given any HW of any era fits.

I dont think it helps when you have Lewis beating Vitali as another option in the poll.

Good one. That was the upset of the year also.
I forgot about that one. Although it was fairly quick, so it wasnt an all-round performance. Or was it?:huh:D

Sanders fought with an urgency and an attitude of nothing to lose. He also had an awkward southpaw style, very unpredictable and herky jerky that even gave Vitali problems at first. Very fast hands for a HW and very good power too and stamina. Not bad for a guy who was inactive and spending most of his time golfing.

Man, How would I love to see that rematch. If Wlad lost then people would stop talking about it, means he had his number. However if Wlad won then he would shut up most of his critics that say he never avenged his losses.
