For all those that think Wlad vs Tua wouldn't be interesting, chew on this ****. They were doing good with comp for Adamek at HW, but since Arreola, the comp seems to be going slowly downhill. I don't think Maddalone is good for Adamek at all if he's trying to prepare for a KO bro. I love a active fighter, but I'm sure they could have found someone better for him to face. But when it comes down to it, yes I would rather him stay busy than not fight at all. Thoughts?
maddalone is exciting but ex cruiser mormeck just used him as his stepping stone weak opponent fight chambers or povetkin or or another top 10 guy how bout tua beating tua would kill bad chin critics
well from my understanding, that deal isn't set in stone. Im sure wlad will offer adamek the dec 11 date. im sure adamek would fight but his promoters may have different ideas. I think if Adamek is intent on fighting Wlad at some point, he should just take the fight now and not risk his payday and title shot by fighting other guys. No guts, no glory...However, if the plan is to avoid the klitschkos and fight for the 'London Championship', then this is a smart fight.
I like Adamek a lot, but honestly he hasn't put together any better a heavyweight ledger than Haye since they each moved up. I don't rate Arreola at all. This isn't really a huge step backward, so much as a lack of an overdue step forward.
I would rate the Arreola win slightly ahead of the Valuev or Ruiz win. Arreola was a live hw with a punch and a fringe top 10 guy. Valuev had just come off his awful showing against holyfield and ruiz was 3-4 in his last 7 fights. Adamek certainly proved more in that fight than haye has. Adamek can take a decent punch and has good stamina at hw. Haye has proven neither as of yet. And that won't change fighting guys like Harrison :yep
I don't remember where I read it, but team Wlad & Adamek were in talks for a tentative March date I believe. Did anyone else hear about that?
I agree, but I put Adamek above Haye because of sheer activity. I could give a **** less about Haye's ******ed WBA "title".
Adamek and Haye having a comparable resume makes Haye look bad not the other way around as IB tried to state.
It doesn't make either one look worse than the other. It makes them look like a couple of cruiserweight champions who have moved up to great fanfare and failed to challenge themselves against top heavyweights since doing do. That Haye happens to have a belt and Adamek doesn't does not excuse Adamek's stagnating level of competition.
This. But let me reiterate, I would rather Adamek stay active against journeyman, that could lead to a big fight, than only fight once or twice a year like Haye. So far Haye has fought ONCE since winning a belt, against Ruiz. Next up for "title" holder Haye isn't exactly a step up either.
probelm i have is you speak of Adamek as if he is a belt holder and is somehow obligated to fight stiff competion. In reality he is a undersized HW who is a underdog in the sense of being able to win a title.Meanwhile David Haye is a self proclaimed saviour by himself and some fans and has absolutly made a mochary of himself and his career. Yes there is a bit of a difference between the 2 despite having the CW past in common.
This is totaly bogus. Its nice to think things over in retrospect, isn't it? The fact of the matter is, at the point in which Arreola fought Adamek, he was not a fringe top 10 guy. He was on every one's top 5 list, whether he deserved it or not.
