I really don't think Haye is affraid. He would have fought Wlad as a challenger if Setanta hadn't gone bust so to say he lost his balls when he won a belt is silly to me.

Personally I think he delayed the Klit fight for 2 reasons. Firstly I think he wants more money and expects the fight to be 50-50 in every sense.

Also, I think he and Booth both saw that the Ruiz fight was not a good tune up for Wlad. Haye didn't spar and looked rusty defensively. His timing wasn't there and neither was his conditioning. He looked pretty gassed early and needed to be helped out of the ring as he was so tired.

I think Haye wanted Vitali after Ruiz as he's older, slower and would probably be easier for him to handle at this point with his movement and speed advantage. The Klits were pushing Wlad for the same reason and it seems the fight evaporated.

I think the Wlad fight will happen next year and I think it will be a good one.

You have a good point. I think all boxers are affraid of losing their income stream but, as you said, Haye talked like he wasn't. I expected at least 2 fights with Klits and possibly more if he beat one of them. Now it seems we may only get one fight as he's so adamant that he'll retire in a year. Not cool.

i agree, haye prior to the ruiz fight didnt look tuned up to me, he didnt look as toned as he usually does.

i wonder why haye wasnt sparing for the ruiz fight? surely he should have stuck with what he was doing prior to that fight?

who do you think would be a good tune up for the wlad or vit fight?....not harrison in any case! :patsch

Hes not afraid of getting hurt but he know he will likely get beat and lose alot of his income. Hes got a big mouth to hype up his easy fights fto the casual british fan. I dont think he really cares about his legacy atall, only money. I doubt hell even be remembered after he gets beat by one of the klits.

I personally think he is afraid of the Damage he will take in a fight with both Brothers.

if Peter couldnt take these shots, who else can?

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I don't think he's afraid, necessarily. But the fight with Valuev changed Haye. It gave him the first big payday of his career. And now that he knows he only has to fight 2 a year and he can still sell fights, he's taking the easy way out. He'll avoid the Klitschkos for as long as he can. He'll probably never fight Vitali because Vitali will retire in a fight or two. He's knocking on the door of 40. He may eventually take on Wlad both it won't be for at least another year. He'll stick close to home and fight a mandatory only when he has to. Also, remember that Chagaev is his mandatory and Haye can easily get out of that one because Ruslan can't get a licence to fight in the UK withhis Hepatisis. So, we might be looking at him taking on the 2 ranked (Valuev) or maybe the 3 ranked guy if Valuev retires or needs surgery.

i watched wlad vs peter last night, yeah peter took some decent shots and took them well.

he didnt do a great deal to get out of the way of wlads shots, haye wont just stand there and get hit.

i think wlad will use some diff tactics against haye if the fight does happen, he knows haye has power and has fast hands, but also can be hit and can be put down, but haye also knows this about wlad.

i think it will be a cracking fight, and i really hope it happens.

There aren't a lot of big, skilled guys out there. Maybe Tony Thompson, but he's slowed down a lot since he fought Wlad. Dimentrenko? Well, he's already been exposed by Chambers but he is a decent fighter with a standup European style.
