As I have posted before, I saw that fight in Philly, 1948 show above, in which he kod
the brave Beau Jack...Ike Williams was when he was "uncuffed" was the best lightweight
I ever saw, barring none...He had trouble with his mgr and the Boxing Guild, and
sometimes we would not see the "real" Ike Williams..
Williams, Beau Jack, Bob Montgomery and Willie Joyce, all who I was privileged to see
in MSG, could not be topped as a quartet, fighting at one time in my lifetime....

I'm sure he was. But he didn't have many knockouts - why is this?

Are you serious.? Ike Williams kod 60 opponents and he was later on forced to tackle welterweights...And he was fighting guys , many of whom would be champ today...The 1940s was a golden age for sure....

Yeah but apparently he was a big puncher... I don't see why he has a low knockout percentage. Did he carry opponents?

John/Bert, was he the most gifted offensive fighter you saw barring maybe Robinson?

Awesome footage. I'm glad the referee got back from the beer stand in time to stop the fight.

He looks like a little Robinson to me.
