You may be right. We'll see. He certainly hasn't been really tested yet.

He was talking smack in that interview a week or two ago about how much of a *****/****** Ortiz is and calling him out for a fight. IMO Ortiz would starch him. He better look elsewhere for his next fight.

What makes you think Ortiz would starch him considering Ortiz folded "like a cheap suit" the moment he met someone who would hit him back (Maidana), whereas in contrast, Rios smiled at every shot Peterson landed?

Ortiz has much more pop than Peterson and Maidana is 5x more accomplished than Rios.

    Apples and oranges

What makes Maidana so accomplished? His only name opponent prior to fighting Ortiz was Kotelnik and he was defeated. When you claim Maidana to be "5x" more accomplished than Rios, you make it sound like he's a multi-weight world champion with a host of names on his list of victims.

For the record, I think Rios is a truth machine and would probably have Ortiz telling Kellerman that he shouldn't be getting beat up like this again.

Victor wants everything in life to come easy. My bet would be on Rios.

Prior to fighting Ortiz sure but Maidana has had a bunch of solid wins since. A SD loss to Kotelnik and wins against Ortiz, Cayo and Chop Chop is quite impressive over the last two years. Rios was fighting guys with losing records late last year.

I hope Rios/Ortiz happens and it very well may after Ortiz wins on Saturday. Would be a nice early 2011 fight for HBO.

I wasn't overly impressed with Ortiz last time out. I think he's a good fighter, but one who will find it hard to dig deep when he has too...and you're going to have to dig deep fighting a Brandon Rios.

Rios won't be a 135 fighter much longer. And if he is it will only be a matter of time before cutting all that weight catches up to him.

I didnt watch the fight until sunday night but to be honest i was not so impressed.

Peterson did outbox him in the 1st with just the jab. So a slick boxer could beat him.

JMM-Rios would be a hell of a fight since JMM likes to trade as well as box. Being that Rios is a huge LW im sorry to say but JMM might actually lose this one. The age plus fighting a young big LW who can punch could be very dangerous. But hey JMM still has all the experience in the world and is known for adapting very well.

I think its a 60-40 for JMM. I wanna see what Rios would do when JMM takes away some of his punches like he does to most fighters.

Fragile!? The guy isn't hard to find and he was hit in the nuts at least five times and never stopped attacking. Most guys flinch or jump. He kept fighting. Sounds to me like you're hating, man.

I think you guys are overrating him after one fight. He was fighting bums until 3 days ago. I am not hating ****. Some here are picking him to beat Marquez and Kats already :huh

I'll wait and let him earn my respect as a boxing fan.

I can't wait to see Rios vs Ortiz. I do think Brandon Rios wants that fight for a reason. Props to him for handling Peterson so well.
