Check it out guys, A decent looking prospect throwing it all away: The Pride of Denver, Mile High Mike Alvarado (27-0, 19 KO's), has apparently become entangled once again in the legal system and could mean the end of a bright and promising boxing career.. According to sources and mentioned on the Thursday edition of Inside ********!, Alvarado has once again had his parole revoked for a violation and will probably be required to serve the remainder of his 3-year sentence with no chance of an early release. After an 11-month down period, Alvarado looked as impressive as ever in stopping Lenin Arroyo by TKO in the second round in Corpus Christi, Texas, on April 3rd of this year. So impressive was the seemingly focused and obviously talented Alavarado, Bob Arum and Top Rank Promotions signed Alvarado to a potentially lucrative promotions deal with the strict condition of him staying completely away from any trouble. I saw him fight couple of times, looked good, considering the opposition. He was still improving and working on his technique. I didn't see him to be a champion but more of tough-to-get-by gatekeeper. But I guess we'll never know. What an idiot
Good! The guy cannot control his impulse's or abide by a set of structured rules then he belongs in a cage. Apparently he was not that good of a fighter or he would still be free. Mayweather, cough cough, wink wink.....
He looked pretty solid, but he is already 30, so it was about time to step it up. But as has been said, no discipline, no career.
You're right it really isn't. But he was just about to sign with Top Rank and step up to the next level, all that has been scrapped. It's not the end of a career but it's just going to be tough getting back to that point at 33.
