The Bowe thrashing version of Golota takes on Holyfield.

    Winner?

Unfortunately, the DQ scenerio is most likely. Golota, mental/emotional issues aside, was near complete as a HW fighter. Judging from his best rounds against Bowe in I and II I considered him a serious threat to Evander and Mike at their best, as well as the giants in the division. I remember sitting there with my jaw on the floor thinking "this guys from POLAND?!"

I believe that he was an even bigger waste than Bowe, Grant, and Ike.

Word was that in sparring he was unbelievable (probably because his acute anxiety issues were not at play) and at least one guy you've heard of declined sparring with him. He was that good.

I think prime Golota matches up better against Holyfield than many other ATG's, but the prime heavyweight Holyfield (1990-1992) was incredible.

    Holyfield wins.

From 1996-1999, Golota may have had a decent shot against Holyfield, though. That Holyfield was far removed from his days as The Real Deal, despite victories over Tyson, whom he matched up very well against.

But prime-for-prime, gotta go with Evander. He was much better than many seem to remember him.

I'm not saying DQ to try and be funny, I genuinely believe that would be the outcome. Golota would of probably thrown a combination to the sack of any opponent he had that night, but with Holyfield leading with the head aswell and taking his best shots he would of become extremely frustrated and fouled him constantly until DQ'd I feel.

I don't think Golota has serious chance with Holyfield. Well, possibly with Holyfield from Moorer fight or the one with hepatisis, but otherwise he would lose by KO or DQ.

At best he could win couple of rounds outjabbing Holyfield, but once Holyfield gets inside he would destroy him. Golota was never good inside fighter (I have to admit I can't remember him throwing an uppercut for example), and he wasn't good enough to keep Holy on distance full 10-12 rounds either. And once he gets hit it will be quickly over one way (DQ) or another.

I am not sure about the sparrings, but long ago I have heard something about Golota winning wars with Tua when they both had the same promotor (Duva). Of course it can be only a gossip, but on the other hand most of Tua opponents were able to outpoint him (even if most of them for some time only), so I can easily imagine Golota doing it as well (especially if they were using all this headgears, body armour, etc.)

Well, i normally don't put much credibility in gym/sparring stories, but this is one i have no trouble believing. Golota, around that time, was awesome in terms of technique, skill and athleticism combined with his massive size. Too bad he had the Norton disease.. and then some.

Golota was unbelievable... but had the fatal flaw... the Achilles' Heel.

I believe that it was Jameel McKline but I'm not sure and can't find the source.

I can only imagine what happens when Golota gets a taste of the Holyfield headbutt, Golota would probably bite him or something and this would turn into to one of the most foul-fested fights in the modern era. Golota loses by DQ and there'd be cups being thrown into the ring, echoing his fight with Tyson at the Palace.

This matchup would have literally pitted the strongest minded Heavyweight in history, against the weakest minded Heavyweight in history.......

.......Golata may very well have given Holyfield some trouble, he was a big Heavyweight with exellent fundamentals, but this matchup I'm certain only ends one way, and thats Holyfield with his hands raised.

......really.....there is absolutely no way Golata would have had it in him to deal mentally with what Holyfield would bring.

Let's see: You have possibly the biggest heart in history v.s. the smallest ... I'd bet my last cent on Holyfield.
