Did anyone see how much Lewis held against Tua?

What does this has to do with anything in discussed in this thread?
You always just post some random post with an agenda. Way to show support for Klitschkos :bart

Tua is ranked #2, since Adamek is busy, fighting Tua satisfies his mandatory fight.

I would prefer to see Wlad take on Solis if he had to fight someone but I don't think there's anyway Wlad takes on Solis unless he is the mandatory to much of a risk. With that being said is Tua better than Peter because Peter got to the spots he needed to be many times but did nothing when he got there. If Tua got to those same spots I could see him punishing Wlad with combos on the inside. I think Wlad would keep his distance as usual. But, if he ever got close or even opened up and let Tua get him on the hook I think Tua could finish him. Keep in mind against someone as skilled as Wlad that easier said than done.

He has already satisfied his mandatory requirements, this is a voluntary defense.

Huh. I didn't think he had satisfied his WBO yet. Oh well.

Anyone know if this is his last fight on the current RTL contract?

The contract extension was for 5 fights, 2 for Vitali and 3 for Wlad.
Vitali is fulfilling his obligation by fighting Briggs and Wlad would fulfill his obligation in his next fight... so that is correct, another fight this year would free the Klitschkos from their current RTL contract.

One hypothesis would be that they are making themselves available to meet Haye's demands of finding the highest bidder for their match. :good

A little random... but I'll humor Farmy.

But since you mention, don't forget that although Lennox won a pretty wide decision, Tua managed to land some HELLACIOUS shots on the man. Lewis still had to earn his paycheck against Tua.

But that was nearly 10 years ago :think.

This would be akin to the Toney vs Couture fight in the UFC in terms of a sideshow / celeb name opponent type of fight. Tua has a great chin but nobody can keep taking shots from a fighter like Wlad for 12 rounds if they don´t have at least a good, if not very good defense. Look at how Ray Mercer, who has a very good chin, was KOed by Wlad for one and I think Tua has slipped as far as Mercer had back then.

I really gave up on Tua when he fought Cisse Salif in 2005, who isn´t even a fringe contender. Tua had lost his power and IMO deserved to lose the fight. One of the judges agreed with me and Tua got a split decision win. This was 5 years ago. Tua has not fought any significant fighters since. He just got dropped by Barrett. I say he´s done.

You give them a pass? one is a standout amatuer who is a top 5 rated heavy, the other has already beaten golota, estrada and arreola.

haye and povetkin are part of the problem.

what title fights will 2010 see? vitali vs sosnowski, vitali vs briggs, wlad vs chambers, wlad vs peter, wlad vs tua/mormeck, haye vs ruiz, haye vs harrison.

    the division is a joke.

the general level of competition is shocking i think.

i mean haye might have a chance vs vitali, infact some young athletic boxer might have a chance.

but vs wlad, noone right now really has a hope.

k2 are doing all they can, it is sad the era they have found themself in. atleast vitali has had his big fights already.

I agree the level of competition is shocking

    Agree here to

Disagree here Haye and Solis not only have hope but would have a great shot at beating him'.

Diasagree here to Wlad could be more exciting in the ring and go for the big exciting KOs and he would be viewed in the same light as a Mike Tyson for being exciting in the ring but he choses to take the safe although effective path and bores people to death in the process. Vitali is just a victim of his brother being boring I think Vitali's fights are more entertaining.
