Only just seen the Maidana fight now but I was really impressed with Corley and had it very tight on the scorecard. I thoiught he was completely shot and could possibly be blown away by Maidana early on but he was his equal in truth. I'd love to see him take on a couple of prospects here in Britain, Paul Mccloskey and Ajose Olusegun because he could cause them both a lot of trouble. He puts his punches together really well still and has a lot of variety. The only concern is his defence but he has the skills to worry them 2 who are still a bit sloppy and are there for the taking. They both have high rankings in the organizing bodies so a win over either could get him another shot so I really think it'd be worth the risk. What do you guys reckon?

Chop Chop has always been a solid fighter, and a tough gatekeeper and test for up and coming prospects and champions. I believe he held the WBO title for a while. Hes definitely a great test but probably not for a fighter with little experience.

I agree about McCloskey and Olusegun. Neither has a great deal of power to worry him. It would be a good crossroads fight. Chop Chop can get back into title contention with a win, and for the Brits is is a good test to see if they are ever going to make anything of their careers.

I've never seen Corley pre-Maidana so could anyone tell me if he was a shadow of his former self of was he still pretty much some of the old chop chop?

    McCloskey is Irish.

Corley put up one hell of a fight. I do think he is shot though, but he's fighting for his dead brother's kids now though and not just his own, so I suppose their was even more motivation.

Yeah Corley has always been pretty damn good. Lost some competitive fights to some of the best. He's still a tough fight for anyone.

Corley, when he has ample training time, can still hang with the best fighters. Many of his losses of late have came because he is/was literally taking fights on 2-5 days notice. As of late he's been working at a gym (not boxing gym) as a trainer in Fredericksburg, VA, where my parents live. He is much better than his record indicates. Most of his loses have came against guys he knew 0 about and came into the fight with very little boxing training.
