OK. Did anyone read CWs interview with the former fringe contender Malik "queen" Scott? Well I have three times. This guys mouth is a big as David Hayes. I've been following this guy Robert Helenius for about a year now, and he has absolutely annihilated his competition, including Brewster, and a couple of decent prospects. Being that Malik looks to get back into the fight game, and Helenius is looking for some stiffer comp, maybe these guys could mix it up, and get a shot against Audely in the spring for the London championship belt. After Audley KTFO Haye this fall, he'll be looking for an easy defense before being murdered by a K bros, and a fight between RH and MS would position either of them for a shot at the WBA belt. Just thinking this could be interesting considering RH is about the best HW out there who is young, athletic with a chin, and some power. I think the he's the next unified champion myself(5 years), but we'll see if any of the top 20 guys with step in there with him, or if he feels ready to get it on in the hunt for a strap.
Chitown fan, I get it you probably hate Haye and I agree Scott vs. Helenius would be a good potential matchup, You seriously think Audley "I got beat up by Rogan, Sprott, williams, guinn" harrison is going to pull of the upset. Especially seeing that he needed a lucky punch to even beat sprott? I mean come on. I get it, You are not a haye fan and i'm sure you like many others want to see him beat/shut up but dude Audley is not going to be the one to do it.
OK, bear with me here. I don't think Haye is a bad fighter. I just don't believe he's a good HW. When I watch his fights against Ruiz and Valuev I see a totally ONE DIMENSIONAL potshotter. Not saying that doesn't translate into success. Byrd was a KING for a while, and his technique was nearly identical, albeit I think Byrd's power was a little more noticable. And that's almost pathetic in itself, but his oppen As for Audley KOing Haye, I gotta think it's going to happen. He's a totally different type of fighter compared to Valuev and Ruiz. He hits from angles, has decent HW power, and is a southpaw. The straight left from a true HW is something Haye has never seen, and it's gonna land early in the fight. Now, if Haye takes it, and counters with a right of his own, then maybe he changes my mind. But for now, with all the evidence out there, I like Audley for this fight. It's not because I hate Haye, which I do, but because I think he's actually fighting a live body at HW, and one he won't be able to use his wheels against. But yeah, I like Helenius to move up this fall, and make a run for the WBA in the spring or summer of next year, and I really dislike Malik Scott, so who better to step up against then he. Would be interesting with low risk for Helenius because as big as MS is, I think Cory Spinks has more power in his punches.
Great interview from journalistic perspective, but from a fight fan's (which I must assume you are), you gotta wanna see this guy get his ass handed to him, especially after he basically discredits the entire HW division, of which he has fought nobody.
Thank you, a good interview is what I always strive to acheive. Yes, I am a diehard fan of boxing, more of an obsession really, haha.
I've never seen Malik Scott fight, but have been following his progrees on boxrec; I was waiting for him to step up in competition, but instead his career has stalled and he has become a sparring partner. Therefore, even though he has an undefeated record, I have no idea how he fights. It would be nice to see Helenius get into the fray, simply because the Klitschkos are running out of credible opponents.
I can't post the link I dont think, but his fights are out there to see, at least a couple of em. But yeah, I was high on him about 5 years ago when he was fighting on ESPN. He looked decent for a big guy. If he is true to his word, as he told CW, that he is in good shape, and has banked a lot of rounds in the gym, then he might make a good fight for a RH or a Solis type up and comer.
Helenius/Scott would be a good match-up. its hard to say how good Malik really is though also, Audley is getting KO'd, no doubt about it
Being that Haye will only defend his WBA belt in England soas he doesnt have to fight Ibragimov either.
