I haven't praised Lara for two reasons:

    1. He was saved by the bell after he ate 3 consecutive uppercuts.

    2. Brewer was clearly shot. For the first time in years Brewer looked like any random journeyman.

The jury is still out on Lara. All the nationalistic nuthugging in the world won't change that.

 At all this calling back on previous posts. Boo, you made a point in saying that Brewer might pop Lara's undefeated cherry, but he didn't. Yes, any non-biased viewer would say that Brewer was past his best, but it doesn't matter, it was still a solid win for Lara against a guy who, as you said, had derailed many previous hyped up prospects or solid fighters. Common sense really, promotors don't put their guys in with tough opposition until they build up a bit of a record. Brewer was a good name to put on Lara's resume, and clearly he was past it, even if we only found out during and after the fight.

Lara vs. Vanes would be a terrific fight, I hope it happens, even though there is a very, very, very miniscule possibility that it is even being discussed in the Top Rank meeting room.

I can tell you so many examples of boxers getting hits with uppercuts before the bell rang...and they are ATG.
Yes I'm cuban and dont take anything away from those who beat my fellowmen,I remember Hurtado hurting Pernell Sweet Pea to the point of being one rd away of getting a decision(KO Sweet Pea twice)and getting KO at the last moment...it was sad but i was impressed of Pernell, dont take anything away from him, after that fight lost a close decision to DLH...its boxing man.

I think you r wrong, Lara has never being hurt, he can take a punch and won that fight fair and square, he took out a very cagey and dangerous opponent without controversy. You haven't make any good point regarding that fight, we all watch that scrap, and he was totally dominated.

If he beats Brewer, **** Agbeko! Give the King Kong moniker to Erislandry Lara!!
And he keeps looking for excuses, buddy b a man of you word and start calling Lara "KING KONG".
