You have to give these 2 brothers credit for what they have been doing , they have been mowing through opponants knocking them out, top contenders none the less.. and for the 1st time in history they have to beg for people to fight them because they are so feared, they are great fighters and good sportsmen .. inteligent, and prob in Wlads case and prob Vitali to.. are the hardest hitting mo fo's in the history of the sport.. and have their doc. degree's .. never in the history of the sport has all these things been accomplished .. more power to the great Klitschko brothers!!!

Yeah, you have to admit that when they retire there will never be any "what if" fights or scenarios with them.......besides them fighting each other. They run from no one, and I'm not a nuthugger either. Just the facts.

They are fighting the best fighters of their era: Marciano also fought in a weak era, as did Larry Holmes. Mike Tyson doesn't have a lot of big wins over ATG opponents -- Holmes had been retired for 2 years when he came back to fight Mike for a suitcase full of cash offered by Don King.

The Klitschkos have beaten previously unbeaten fighters who were tapped to be "saviors of the HW division," and stopped these people in their tracks, such as Calvin Brock (heavily hyped by many boxing experts) and yes, Sam Peter, who was hailed as a savior after he beat James Toney for the second time.

The point being, if the Klitschkos weren't around, we would all be discussing the "parity" of the HW division and the relative merits of Chagaev, Peter, Haye, Chambers, etc. as great heavyweights as they traded belts back and forth. We wouldn't know the difference.

The Klitschkos are so dominant they make the competition look worse than it actually is. It's all relative.

i agree with they can only beat whats in frint of them , but that still does not change the fact their best wins are not great boxers which goes back to my point that they cant be considered great

My point is that other fighters have fought in weak eras and achieved greatness by cleaning out the division and dominating. Marciano, Holmes, Joe Louis (who had his "bum of the month club") all lacked great foes for long stretches of their careers. But they are still considered greats, and the Klitschkos will be as well, especially if they continue to win. Winning is the answer to all questions. Who knows what fighters like Brock might have achieved if they hadn't been brutally derailed by a Klitschko Brother?

The heavyweight division has been more like it is now far more often than it has been star-studded.

    good take.

Both Vitali and Wlad would dominate most any era of this sport. Their size and speed and perfect fluency with their power shots would equate to success against the likes of most all of the top 10 ATGs. But their legacies are still being written. We'll see if Vitali can pull off 6 or 7 more defenses in the next 3 years and if Wlad can pull off and unprecedented amount of defences which I believe he will eventually do.

I don't think the division is as weak as people make it out to be, the reason it seems so weak is because the K bros are so dominant - which makes them great.

Like chopper said, it's not the first time it's happened. I think when you have one person dominating a division and people start saying it's 'weak' because it's being dominated, that perhaps that's a sign that you have someone at the top who is just levels above all other fighters. Rather than the whole division being weak, it's more that you have two boxers are incredibly good at what they do.

Either of the K bros would put up a great fight vs ANY ATG imo, they're that good.

I have one word for you..... SUGAR NIKO VALUEV

The Klits pulled off the biggest duck in history. A prime SNV (i.e. any time between his birth and 10 years from now) would brutally KO both bros at the same time. That's not me nut hugging either. That's just the straight dope.

I agree completely, how many years of dominance does it take. I know there is the competition argument, but at this point the Klits have earned their right to greatness.
