It doesn't matter if Cotto has better resume than floyd or packy at light welter or welter, you can have all the belts you want and the divisions. It's All about 1 and 2 Pound for Pound and who is the best.

Both Pacquiao and Floyd in their Primes whoop Cotto in his prime anyway

Chop chop Corley said Floyd was the best fighter he fought and hit him harder. Remember Chop Chop got jobbed in Puerto Rico. Corley, hurt Cotto several times and had him out on his feet. Ref did a terrible job in that fight. Mayweather, beat Gatti like he stole something to most fans and experts surprise.

Cotto no arguement Floyd had a short stay to belt grab and beat Gatti in a money fight

Cotto sat on a title and KO'd many good fighters to defend many times

Mayweather asked for Hatton and Hatton's team openly stated they werent ready to face him.

Mayweather had a few fights and moved up to 147 to take the lineal championship. Hatton was the man and he wouldnt fight him, Cotto was an up and comer at the time, this was 2005 well before Cotto was the star that he became later and well before he was ready to face Mayweather

    Here it is :

Stunishing - adj. something close to "floored", it is a combination word, combining "stun" (see floored) and "finishing" (again see floored)

Example : The punch that hit Cotto was stunishing or (see floored).

People should stop parading the Gatti (RIP) fight around like its some sort of trophy, when HASNT gatti gotten outclassed when hes fought elite level opposition. Yes, im sure Hatton and Cotto were terrified watching........ something they would have done as well.

No disrespect to Gatti, he was a great warrior and is revered for a reason, but the man was never an elite fighter. People acting like the Gatti performence had Cotto or Hatton scared are delusional. Everyone respects gatti, but that shouldnt be mistaken for thinking hes an elite fighter. Both Hatton and Cotto would have creamed Gatti, in their own way.

    This is silly.

Mayweather had only three fights, let alone wins, let alone notable wins at 140. All three were good wins, granted - but none were amazing. 140 isn't where Mayweather made his mark.

Cotto, on the other hand, did make his mark at 140 - very much so. Between 2002 and 2006 he put together about 20 "good wins" in the same league as Mayweather's three (including three common opponents - and one over a common opponent at 140 specifically - all of whom he did better against, scoring early stoppages where Mayweather had scored late ones or won decisions).

When comparing their records of wins overall, Mayweather's is better than Cotto's. When you narrow it down to 140, however - it's just a silly question. That wasn't Mayweather's star-making weight. It was Cotto's.

Mayweather beat Chop better then Cotto did. Fine...

Cotto beat Zab and Sosa better then Mayweather did....

    None of that means anything.

I agree with you though the ref was horrible in that fight, but Corley was taking knees for a reason, he was on his way to losing that fight regardless.

Still though, the ref should be banned. I felt bad for chop that night.
