The great Klitschkos

Great? Great for what? Name the best opponent on either brother's resume and you'll find a big fat L. They are the best in a time of crap. If Wladdy losses to guys like Purity, Brewster and Sanders, imagine what prime Tyson, Lewis Holyfield or Bowe would have done with him. And that's just the 90's brother.

 

Sorry but I disagree. The reason why the heavyweight division is regarded as weak is because people know what they see with their own two eyes.

 

According to this theory there will never ever be any great fighters in the HW division in the next 100+ years simply because they didn't beat any ATG because there were no greats around who could possibly be beat. IMO that's a completely baseless assumption and reminds me of the "who was first, the chicken or the egg" paradox.

 

The haters have "sour grapes". The haters worship Teddy Atlas and believe everything he says.

 

It is not Klitschkos fault that the division isn't filled with talent. They are not avoiding anyone and beating all the opposition.

 

What kinda' bothers me about alot of posters, is how they never give or reluctant to give Benard Hopkins and credit as an ATG, because they have NO problem in saying and/or believing that he spent years fighting in a Middleweight Division during a time when that division was at its' so-called weakest.

Yet these same posters have NO problem in Calling the Klitchkos ATG's, when in fact...they were fighting in a Heavyweight Division that has been the WEAKEST DIVISION IN BOXING for years.

In all seriousness its tough to say that anyone woulda beaten wlad with his current style and ring smarts . But before he changed it up and was more exciting but he put his stanima out there and put himself in danger of taking big shots

 

The argument that a boxer cannot be considered great without beating a "great" stipulates that there will NEVER be great HW boxer again. Think about it: if there are no greats now, even though Klits dominate everybody, then a new boxer that might come along and dominate everybody like Klits do still won't be considered great, just dominant-since there are 0 great boxers to beat.

 

:deal Exactly that. The entire "you can only be a great if you beat a great" argument is complete horse****.

If Wlad manages to put together another 3-5 wins, maybe 1 big fight and retire without a catastrophic loss to a minor opponent then Wlad will be remembered as *THE* dominant HW of the early part of this decade.

If Wlad gets bounced around the right 2-3 times then his entire legacy will go down the toilet. That's why IMO it is much too early to judge Wlad's historic achievement. A lot hinges on the final fights of his career.

 

These two are HISTORIC fighters. They size and dominance of late will something that needs to be talked about for a long time.

Strangely, they both had some faults about 8 years ago, but now, it's hard to find flaws at all. Both are absolutely dominating the competition and neither has been in a competitive fight in five+ years.

Plus, their fan base is classy, loyal and enthusiastic.
