Huge chance for Jackson...if he is fired up and ready, this is certainly winnable for him.

Jackson Asiku lost by TKO in round 6 to Johnny Gonzalez.

1st 3 rounds were give & take with both guys having their moments.
4th rd Jackson got dropped, & he then got dropped twice more in the 5th rd.
Stoppage came in the 6th after Jackson was getting pummelled in the corner.

Good work Kegs - pity for the Action Man though.

Action Jackson lived up to his billing. Even before he was in trouble, this was an exciting and highly dramatic contest. Someone with less heart (which covers most) would have been finished off much earlier once Gonzalez got on a roll offensively with those vicious hooks.

Asiku was getting tossed around the ring like a rag doll but kept looking for open spaces to land his own shots and forced himself right up every time he went down. :thumbsup

Disappointed with the result but at least he stepped up.

Just watched a replay & Jackson was right in it after 3 rounds. He could have very well been up 29-28.
Jhonny had a little too much power & Jackson was getting tagged far too often with Gonzalez's left hook to the head from round 4 until the end.
Easy in hindsight, but i wish Jackson was a little more disciplined, maintained better distance with his jab like he did earlier in the fight & kept his right hand up at all times.
Still a terrific action pressure fight with rounds 3 & 4 right up there for rounds of the year.
    Colonel Bob was going nuts!!!

    So was Sergeant IB. :yep

This one will get at least a couple more viewings for certain. :good

The writing was somewhat on the wall as early as round 2 when Asiku was briefly hurt. At that point it still seemed anybody's game, however - especially since Gonzalez got hurt a few moments later himself. You're absolutely right about keeping the right hand up. That was the sacrifice he made by committing to the body (which was sound enough strategy while it worked...)

    No sweat!

That was $25 well spent, with more crackling action than in many of the major PPV events that cost twice that much.
