First, when I say "white" I'm referring to his hair, not his race. No racism here. I'm not very opinionated politically, however extremely opinionated in regards to boxing regulations. Recently, I was englighten to the ideas of presidental candidate, John McCain. Finally, a voice to represent all the reform needed in our great sport. A brief history of the man includes: 10+ yrs. as a boxer in the U.S. navy, a war hero including a long stint as a POW, and an accomplished politician. He could be the savior of the sport of boxing. Please google all the details of this boxing reform, however I'll highlight the most important.
1-He wants to create a union, which would include healthcare and a finincial plan for retirement.

2- He wants to eliminate the alphabet belts, and have all boxers fight under the same body. This would lead to more clarity in boxing as well as producing the best fights. Just imagine: juanma vs. gamboa, pbf vs. pac, Klit vs. haye. All the best fights would be created similar to the format ufc uses.

3- he wants to put the $ in the hands of the boxers.....not the promoters. This would eliminate the sleezy promoters ruining the sport: Arum, don, scharer, etc.

4- He wants improved judging of fights, basically eliminating the "hometown" decisions.

These changes would create a huge upswing in the interest of the casual fan, not the mention hardcore fans like ourselves. Obviouslly boxing is an international sport, so some of his ideas would be close to impossible to impose, however we must keep hope. I would guess if these rules were implied boxing would over take all major sports in popularity including: ufc, soccer, football, etc. I realize this is a pipe dream, but a dream I will continue to dream......
    your thoughts please, thx

I don't know how he is trying to accomplish this, but it would be great if he does. He boxed himself, so he knows what he's talking about although beïng a Republi-CAN.

Boxing needs something like this, some global body to control it, for better or for worse. The numerous promoters and organizations are pulling the sport apart.

Why would anyone hate John McCain? I mean, I didn't vote for him because he was too old and I didn't agree with a lot of his ideas. But to use the word hate about an American hero seems:roll:...well, just wrong.

these are hypothetically good ideas, but first of all, he wont be able to do it, and second of all, McCain sucks hard enough to where this still wouldnt make me like him

McCain has been talking about this stuff for years. He picked Sarah Palin for a running mate, so how good can his ideas really be:nono

Maybe 'hate' was the wrong choice of words.. stronly dislike seems more suitable... I read an article about him in Rolling Stones one time (Make Believe Maverick, I do believe) and that's one of the reasons behind my opinion of him. I 'hate' noone.

It's very eye opening, have a look if you wish... http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/12697/64765
