True, but his boxing ideas are brillant. A great representive of the sport who walked the walk himself. Just think of using ESB to discuss actually fights instead of debating whose a "hypejob" or why there is a "ducking trend"

No he needs to read the friggen Constitution. What he's talking about is forcing citizens to enter into commerce which is protected by the US Constitution.

It'd be nice to have an NFL like body for boxing, however the NFL wasn't created by the govt. It evolved from private competition and became what it is today. You can't just use govt. to make an NFL it'd be totally unconstitutional, on the grounds I mentioned.

Only a select few make that type of PPV #'s mainly pac, pbf, and cotto.....ufc has 2 ppv views per month and always sellout stadiums. these rules would allow all boxers to make a fair wage and have consistant income instead of living off 1 big payday.

John McCain has been a great supporter of boxing and has been calling for reforms for many years. But what we need are GLOBAL regulations. I'm still rankling after all these years as to what gave the New York State Athletic Commission the right to strip Muhammad Ali of his WORLD Championship title.
And some of these sanctioning bodies, like the WBC, operate outside of the United States. The USA doesn't have the stranglehold it once did on professional boxing.

Gotta love all these armchair posters who don't like McCain because he "doesn't have good ideas" and voted for the hope-and-change marxist. Truly sad.

Well, I don't think any of us wants to get into a political discussion on a boxing board. I close in saying that I like McCain as a man and respect him as a hero. But I thought he was simply too old for the job and that we did need an injection of some new blood. Granted, Obama has not been a particuarly good president for these first 18 months.

This is a good idea. I'm really hoping that some could implement this. Anyway, can you provide some source that McCain actually stated this.

I dont hate him as a person, but I do hate him as a politician, and thats not wrong. not everyone who served in the military is an American "hero" by the way. McCain was an unconstitutional candidate. he said he'd personally raid an old woman with cancers house who was growing medical marijuana for herself and take her to federal prison. **** this old *******

I'm not sure how to post a link on ESB.......simply google: John McCain, boxing. many articles outlining his ideas.
I also undertand the spectism many have shared however at least he is a voice to want to help boxing w/ our countless problems.
