light welter welterweight and light middleweight(if he wins against chavez) is better than mayweathers at these 3? just been looking at these recent polls of the 2 fighters resumes and cottos seems to be the upper hand

a win against Chavez and Foreman still does not equal a win against DLH, so at light middle it isn't better. It's definitely better at LWW and WW though.

why these resume comparisons lately.....at 140 Cotto wasn't ready per his camp.....at 147 they dared not even make an offer simply went about running their mouths....Arum had no problem makin an offer to Floyd for Margo...dont see why he didnt do it with Cotto...i mean if he wanted the fight so bad.

Point is while Cotto gets a lot of respect from me for his skill and fighting whoever his pople put in front of him......Arum knows it, I know it, most people on here know it.....even pre Margo.....Cotto can't beat Floyd!

    Still a helluva fighter:good

I don't think he can beat him either. I don't think anyone's trying to say he can beat him, they are just trying to say that his resume in these divisions is better.

Yes because beating JCC is a real legacy enhancer.

    Cotto is a fan's champion.

    Mayweather is a business champion.

to say a win against jcc and foreman doesnt match up to a win against dlh is stupid. DLH was well and truly past it, maybe in his prime there would be no comparison

His resume at 140 craps all over Floyd's at that weight. Hell, his resume at 147 isn't much worse if at all. DLH is still a better win than Foreman and Chavez combined. Plus Floyd has two other weight classes where he had a decent resume.

Plus, Arum steered Cotto clear of Mayweather at 140.

Decent? Mayweather's resume at 130 is beast.

PBF has very limited amount of fights at 140...Gatti was a good win, I mean I guess you could say Cotto has a better resume at 140 due to PBF's lack of fights there...

But PBF hands down has the better overall resume...and we don't even need to talk about who would win head to head.....(love cotto though)
