Uhmmm. He actually was a hero. He didn't just serve in the millitary. Maybe you should read a bit of history. The man was tortured for years in the Hanoi Hilton and refused to leave his men even though he had a free pass home because he was the son of an admiral. Also, if you hate a politican over a single issue...well, you're just a nut.

 

I wasn't angry, sorry if it came off that way. TBH, I was more annoyed at McCain and his grandstanding, because he knows the constitution and what he's proposing is just fluff to get people to vote for him back when he said it. It's more promises for things he'd never actually intend to deliver on, and technically it'd be impossible as well.

Boxing needs someone with some balls, money, and clout to start things I suppose?

 

well, hes a military 'hero' in that sense sure, but it was during the Vietnam War, which was an illegal and unethical war in the first place. so its hard to have a war 'hero' during a war that shouldnt have happened. its like applauding and giving a title to Mayweather for beating a 54-year old Ray Leonard. it shouldnt have happened.

also, its not just that one policy of course. hes a globalist who supports NAFTA and other organizations that destroy third world country economies. the list goes on though

 

Soldiers fight regarless of whether or not a war is popular or ethical. There is no curve. You don't get credit for being a hero only if the war is just. He was a hero. That's all. In my humble opinion, all wars are wrong, but some are necessary. WW 2 is the most obvious example. But compared to WW1, Vietnam was well justified. The so-called Great War happened because an archduke was assasinated and no one wanted to back down. Vietname occurred because the Soviets were sending aid an arms to the vietcong because they wanted to spread communism. It wasn't just a civil war. In fact, I think it was more legitimate than what we did in Iraq. It was still wrong, I agree. We shouldn't have gotten involved. But we only know that in retrospect.

 

This. What he did in that situation is what defined him as a hero not what was the political context.

lol, some of you need to open your eyes to some of the truths being withheld about his whole ordeal over there. You might not think he was so courageous after reading that article I linked on pg. 1 of this thread... The media wants us all to believe one small fraction of the whole situation, the other parts of the reality are usually not spoken about as with a lot of people in the public eye..
