So what you're saying is an uppercut is not necessary to beat Joe? Do you think it's necessary to beat Tyson? I'm interested in how you think Wlad vs Tyson would play out. Since you stated that a "skilled" big man beats a skilled small man, you must think that Wlad beats Tyson, so why don't you give me some insight into how exactly he does this, especially considering he only needs 2 punches to win.
Im not saying that the uppercut isnt ONE way to beat Joe, obviously it is. Its not like Ali was relying solely on the uppercut when he beat him. And im not comparing Ali to Klit, Im just making the point that there is more than one way to accomplish something and I think Wlad would ultimately impose his will on Joe in the end. As far as Tyson vs Wlad goes, I think Mike would come out aggressive and have Wlad on the run for the first couple of rounds. After that initial burst Wlad would figure him out and start timing him with that same old jab and right hand and Mike would be reduced to throwing one shot at a time until he got tired and punch drunk and either quit or got knocked out. I do not think Wlad would fold under the pressure in the first portions of the fight as he would have planned and trained for it. I give Mike maybe a 10% chance of hurting Wlad and taking him out early and even less as the fight wore on.
So what you're basically telling me is that despite the fact that an uppercut was pivotal in beating Tyson when Lewis fought him for example, Wlad who in most people's opinions isn't as good as Lewis would be able to beat him with a simplistic jab, right hand offense that Tyson's entire defensive mechanism and style was built to avoid? And even though Klitschko has been down over 11 times in his career, the most devesating aggressive fighter in history only has a 10% chance of flooring him? So, what you're telling me, is that you just started watching boxing and don't really know **** about it? Why don't you make a thread about Mike Tyson vs Klitschko and make a poll with it and see how that goes.
You mean to tell me you are citing the fact that Klit has been down in his career as a reason that Mike would beat him? Most fighters go down at some point in their careers and as nervous as Klit fights he has always at least tried to get up and continue when he was hurt. Thats more than we can say for Mike"Im looking for a way out"Tyson. As soon as Mikes whole intimidation shtick doesnt work he crumbles mentally. Even someone like you that has a fetish for short boxers has to admit that. Ive been watching boxing for the last twenty years son and im not even thirty so your attempts to belittle my knowledge dont impress me.
And I seem to remember not too long ago, Eddie Chambers crumbling not unlike a dead man from what was it? Oh yeah a left hook. That wasnt a jab or a right so Wlad does have more than two punches
Jeez, no fun for you. Good thing I don't live life through your social constraints. Why are you so crazy in the head all of a sudden?
Bringing real life into internet talk = ***** Talk. If you have something to prove in life, do it in... life. Yeah, not the net. Oh, and I was addressing Hendo aka ***** Ass.
I never said this, and you belittled yourself by bringing up the vaunted Eddie Chambers. A guy that would have stayed at crusierweight during Tyson's reign.
I don't understand. It's fantasy head to head matchups? I get you don't like Hendo and I don't know why, but don't really care. Any sort of internet rivalry is kind of a ***** thing. Everybody with any sort of imagination or intrigue asks those questions of "How would he do against" etc. We all have since we where 12 years old. I guess you weren't a curious kid or get nothing out of those types of discussions. That's fine, if you're insistent on Hendo doing it out of spite then I guess it's a "***** move" for you. If you don't like these questions because you find them pointless... fine. Every old-time boxing guy that could be anyone's grandfather has always talked about how Dempsey would kill Ali, Marciano, Liston, or Patterson. But I guess they are a ***** though. Nothing worse than over-emphasized stupid macho bull**** talk.
I belittled myself by mentioning a guy who should be fighting at cruiserweight? What does that say about you saying Frazier would beat Klit? I would bet money that Joe would be a cruiser in todays age. All I was saying was that Klit DOES have more than the 1-2 combination to hurt somebody. Look, much to your dismay, the bottom line is that the age of the superheavyweight has arrived and these guys beat the smaller heavyweights of the past. Maybe not always in overall skill, but definitely in head to head competition. If you cant acknowledge that than you sir are the one who doesnt know **** about boxing.
Frazier isn't Tyson, not even close. Ali is overrated, even his **** talking abilities are magical. If you overrate Ali, you have to overrate Frazier for beating Ali, and if you overrate Frazier for beating Ali you have to overrate Foreman for beating Frazier. It's circular overrating at work really.
They'er not overrated! the 70's fighter were superhumens!! the first punch from Frazier would rip Waldimir's right arm off! the next Frazier bomb would rip Waldimir's other arm off! that arm would go flying into Vtali head, and decapitate him..
You're right. Lewis threw better uppercuts than Wlad does but don't go overboard and suggest Wlad sucks at uppercuts. Wlad knocked a B fighter Shufford down hard with an uppercut that surprised Manny Steward who hadn't yet started training Wlad. He threw powerful and fairly accurate uppercuts as well as good body shots in the Thomson fight and finally threw a very powerful uppercut to basically finish off a very strong and brave Sam Peter. People tend to go to one extreme or the other when discussing Wlad's strengths and shortcomings. As far as a hypothetical Frazier fight, I'll defer to Joe Louis when Howard Cosell years ago stated to the old fighter that Ali figures he would just outbox you easily from the outside because he is so much bigger and faster than you. Joe slowly turned to Howard with a baleful, quizzical gaze and said, "He might have." Nuff said.
