So a few months ago it was reported that Vic Darchinyan's management backed out of a rematch with Nonito Donaire...which was surprising at the time because Vic had been actively seeking the rematch. I haven't followed the story much, but I would presume his management was in discussions for this 118 lb tournament which begs the question.....

In your eyes which is better for Darchinyan's legacy, evening the score with Donaire or winning this 118 lb tournament?

This isn't in the poll, but as a I side question, which would be worse for him: losing to Donaire again or flaming out in the first round losing to Mares.

Vic is getting older and I don't see him being able to do either.

Fight marquez. He was always talking **** about fighting him before. Well Marquez is old now so go ahead and do it. It would be a good fight, marquez would kill him but so what, I like marquez.

If you think Mares is overrated, wouldn't you think it'd be better for Vic's legacy to get revenge with Donaire?:think

nope...you know why?....coz i know vic aint winning vs donaire...just like cotto aint winning vs margo or pac......it'd be like the first fight, donaire needs to fight someone to strengthen his resume, a vic win aint doing it!

Winning the tourney. But that aint happening...
Vic is too wee at this weight and I doubt he'll make the final.

Tend to agree. He's had some glaring issues in recent fights. In his fight with Agbeko, Agbeko was landing lead rights almost at will at times against Vic. That and Vic couldn't really hurt Agbeko during the fight.

Winning the tourney. I hate to say this but what has Donaire done? Vic has gone on to bigger and better things and although hes lost hes gotten more exposure and respect in taking on tough challenges.

Well, I was just interested to see simply because it's a big requisite for some to avenge a loss. Prescott hasn't done a lot since sparking out Khan, but some still want to see Khan go back and rematch. Something about removing that blemish.

For me, I agree with you, to move up in weight and win this tourney would be big for him.

    Both.

Vic will win the tourney, then he will knock out Non-Entity.

He is actually fighting guys who can beat him. You probably aren't used to seeing that with your other Aussie fighters!

either would be huge for vic. donaire probably a little more significant but winning the 118 tourny would put him back in the elite category. I don't see hime doing either but good luck to him. I'll be rooting for him int he 118 tourny
