Is the Mag 7 "template" the way forward for Brit PPV boxing?

I hope this is a sign of things to come. Watched with a few friends and really enjoyed it.

 

Pretty much every fight was entertaining, loved it.

Brilliant way of establishing some stars too!

 

good show and worth the 15 quid imo.

i wouldn't mind paying for a card like this every 3 or 4 months, with normal saturday night shows inbetween. i think 7 fights was about right.

i was disappointed by the brook-jennings fight but the cleverly fight was unexpectedly good, and i really enjoyed the chisora win as well.

i think adverts should be limited to between fights rather than stick them inbetween rounds, but thats just a little picky observation. a very enjoyable show overall.

 

I had a great time yesterday, I've been to boxing shows which were one main event and a bunch of nothing underneath and this was way better. I honestly can't understand why people would rather pay for David Haye flattening Audley Harrison is a couple of minutes with George Groves vs Afrobum X on the undercard than a bunch of competitive fights between guys who are a couple of notches further down the pecking order, aren't we fans of BOXING, not names?

I pay double that week in week out to watch west ham lose over 90 minutes. Yeaterday we got 6 hours of action. Next Warren card in December...more of the same please!

People who i know who arent in the know of boxing... they knew there was a boxing event going on but didnt really know what it was all about and who was fighting etc...

 

That's the problem with it - not enough people know about these fights/fighters.

Promoters and TV don't yet do enough to promote the domestic lads but hopefully with the new policies from Sky we'll see an improvement.

Hopefully it did decent numbers, if not then I hope they persist with it.

 

It was good value for money,one of the few ppvs which that have been imo.My only complaint is we did not see the Gavin fight which they could of shown,but we got the 7 live fights they promised so i don`t feel shot changed

 

If Sky keeps pushing these guys, these cards could get massive.

For example, Bellew Vs Ajisafe gets built up on Ringside. Bellew wins impressively. Bellew fights again next year on a Mag-7 type card. It gets built up again, with Clev as well. The main event for the next big card is signed, easy to make, easy to sell, Warren wins either way and it no doubt sells.

Use te Friday Night Fights to distinguish other good prospects with fights with Maloney/Hennessy fighters etc etc then you've got a good fight for one of your other fighters. It's not hard, use the 'Magnificent 7'-esque cards for big, competitive fights that have got both fighters coming off decent tests, built by Sly with well edited media packages.

It's not Rocket Science, it's howthey built intrigue in the old days, before safety first '0' covering prevailed and fighters stepped up with little preperation at times.

If a fighter is going to lose before he 'gets there', e shouldn't 'get there' in the first place. Last night answered some long standing questions, and failed to answer some. This can happen.

But the fact we even had a chance to see some match ups isthe astounding thing, and long may it continue. Don't mind me, I'm stoned as ****.

 

Put lads on the same bill and hope that they both impress..... Hennessy looked like he'd cracked it trying to make Murray vs Thaxton but then picked an ''easy'' defence for Thaxton and Jon got beat, instead of making the fight right there.

The problem is too many promoters for too few fighters - given that most of them are reluctant (or flat out won't) dealing with each other a lot of good fights don't get made.

Another is too many titles, there's basically four domestic titles now on two different levels..... easy to keep lads apart.
