He should get Shumenov and Allan Green next, and then go after Cloud or Brahmenr. Pascal late next year.

 

Cleverly will be exposed by the right fighter.

People don't just improve like he appears to have.

 

Cleverly would beat Shumenov, probably wear him down and stop him..... he was gassed badly in his last fight.

I wouldn't worry about putting him in with Johnson either, he's old and showing definite signs of wear and tear.

If he's not going for a belt next it's going to need plenty of thought who to match him with..... the division isn't stacked.

 

If a fighter is knocking on the door of world title fights then he should have at the very least the fundamentals sorted out. There must be a dearth of decent trainers in this country if we are producing fighters who don't know how not to get hit. It must be a sign of the times because traditionally the first thing that got addressed in the gym was stance and defensive posture, after all boxing is all about hitting without getting hit, or am I missing something??

 

Shumenov didn't like it when Uzelkov set a fairly fast pace early doors...when the fight slowed and settled after the third round Shumenov took over. If Cleverley set a pace like he did last night then he could blow the bloke away.

 

If the Murat fight was stopped before the tenth round, does that mean more than 9.5 rounds were completed?

Shumenov would be an easy way to a title for him and I like his chances against Braehmer more after last night. He's talking about being undisputed champion within 18 months which is good as it shows ambition but first I'd like him to fight a few tough 12 rounders like you guys have mentioned against the likes of Johnson.

I would honestly back Cleverly to beat Pascal if they fought before the end of this year.

 

Shumenov is the one to go for IMO. Interesting fight as well.

A great opponent for his next fight would be Campillo IMO would be another step up/stylistic match-up which could teach him heaps IMO.

Clev was as impressive last night as the little I've seen of Shumenov, certainly. He was in with a fairly low-output guy though, I wouldn't fancy his chances against a Glen Johnson or Cloud just yet, I think Cloud could outland/hurt Clev, and Johnson may well be too wiley for him at this stage.

Cleverly looked class IMO. He's got a fighters mentality, if his punch resistance holds up he can go as far as he wants.

 

Don't think he's got enough power and he'll come undone against someone like Cloud.

 

Cloud's really not that good though, technically Cleverly is far better and i don't think Clev would slug it out with him the way he did with Murat, he'd box a lot more against someone like Cloud.

 

He is a future world champion it is obvious he will go all the way....
