What does Tyson have to do with this thread???

Tyson took a horrendous beating by Douglas. Golota wouldnt have been able to take three rounds of comparable punishment.
As far as later on, yes Tyson showed his insecurities in the ring, but he was never as much of a mental case as Golota.

Everytime Golata was hit hard he looked for the exit ... he was halfway there in the second Bowe fight when he was knocked down. He was out the door v.s. Lewis. He quit against Michael Grant in a fight he was winning. He was trying to quit on his stool after the first round against a semi-shot Tyson. Then he did quit. We went out like a dog against Brewster ... the man was a bully. He did not have a warrior's heart.

Don't see how Tyson fits into this thread

Can't believe you forgot him trying to break Botha's arm as well.

Well, Holyfield dropped Ruiz for two minutes, never mind 10 seconds, with a clean bodyshot that was ruled a low-blow by the referee, so...

Golota, at his best, floated like a butterfly.. but Holyfield could match that if he had to. Golota threw big, good, smooth hooks.. but Holyfield could match that if he had to. Chins? Emaciated Bowe dropped Golota two or three times in two fights.. Bowe dropped Holyfield once in three fights. You have to give the edge to Holyfield, though, based on composure, over the long run.

    Its called defense!

A fighter who fights and wants to stay on the inside does not put his head in a position for it to be punched.

......when on the inside, Holyfield lowered his head and placed it on the lenght between h is opponents shoulders.

The Mike Tyson fans are still in mourning. You always have them complaining about what Holyfield may have done against the rulebooks, but ignore everything Tyson did to break the rules.

Roberto Duran had much the same head placement between a fighters shoulders that Evander Holyfield had.
I never hear the turds in this forum complaining about Duran, and in Duran we have a fighter who literally tried to break a fighter through illegal means.....
.......both Ray Leonard's ears were cut and bloodied from Duran intentionally taking the lacings from his gloves and rubbing them down against Leonard's ears.

Bottom line is that a fighter positions himself to protect himself, and there was nothing that Holyfield did illegal that many other great fighter throughout history have'nt done either.

Im a huge Holyfield fan, but there is no doubt he tried to use his head more later in his career. It was more him lowering his head as he came forward and leading with it, something he didnt do when he was younger.
Noone said Tyson wasnt dirty either, he was super dirty even in his prime, he elbowed the **** out of people and hit guys when they were down.

Supposedly Golota used to handle Tua in sparring since they were both under the same management I believe? Or at least training at the same gym.

There's video of Holyfield sparring and looking in control against Tua. Does anyone know if Golota ever sparred Holy?

Not true, I'm a big Tyson fan and don't ignore his elbows and other dirty tactics. I also don't ignore Leonard pulling his opponent's head down or Duran's thumbing.

Did he get penalized though? Anyways Holyfield was also the smarter dirtier fighter when compared to Golota. I can't take away his heart he the willpower of a fierce lion and wouldn't back down to be intimidated by anyone.

Golota got stopped by a poor fat older version of Tyson

yet you believe he would have given Prime Tyson a serious threat?

    Err...no

Exactly, Golota was dropped in the 1st & wanted to quit after a single round with a terribly faded Tyson.
He then quit after the second.

Golota looked much better than he was against Bowe, becuase Bowe was completely shot-to-**** & only had his warrior's heart left.

    Golota was a
