Hopkins doesnt get his props but if he was around during that era he would have whoop all them guys. James Toney on the other hand that would have been an interesting fight. Dont tell me nothing about weak chin jones I dont want to hear it.

You do know what the word "destroyed" means, right?

The last time Hopkins destroyed anyone, he had hair. No way does he come close to stopping Hagler. They could fight 100 times and Hagler wouldn't go down once.

Anyway, I think all three beat Hopkins. Hagler was just a better fighter, Leonard has big edges stylistically and Hearns was very awkward physically for Hopkins, who has struggled with certain attributes.

I admire Hopkins' skills too but no one 'Destroys' Hagler.. come on now
Would be an interesting fight though!

Hopkins would have given them both tough fights. IMO he beats leonard like he he did to to all welters who who moved up, plus at mw he had power.

With Hagler, Hopkins would have a field day he's too short. Hopkins would definetly give him a boxing lesson. Sugar ray Hopkins would beat him up hitting holding and smothering leonard where he wouldnt be able to get his shots off. Hearns doesnt have a chin Hopkins would definetly knock him out or punish him and get him out in the later rounds

IMO he can beat them all for sure but I'd only favour him over Hearns and Leonard.

leonard probably beats hopkins the way young RJJ did.
hagler probably wins a super close and very entertaining fight that could really go either way IMO(id favor hagler on work rate)
Also im probably in the minority here but id favor hopkins against the hit man(on points of course) i think hopkins style works very good against Lanky straight punch fighters.

I like hopkins but let's be real most of his scalps are from blown up little dudes. His era was not a truly great crop of MWs. Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard are all ATG fighters in their own right. I'm not saying he couldn't scrape out a win...But he wouldn't be favored.

Sugar Ray was gifted but he's not like weak chin jones. Hagler and Leonard at 5'9 or 5'10 are to short for Hopkins. Hopkins would do Hagler like he did Tito Trinadad. Hearns could hit hard but really didnt have a heart if you could take his punches and give back thats why i know hopkins would beat him
