    His name was Grug. He was one of the great neanderthal bare-knucklers. While still in his title reign, he was murdered by a rock-throwing homosexual. Wait-what? Aw, damn boxrec and their errors! Don't go by the boxrec page on him, he was killed by a rock-throwing HOMO SAPIENS. :patsch Anyway, the guy was not one of your smarter fighters but he hit like a motherlover. That overhand left was vicious. His bite also made Tyson's and Golota's look like that of a week-old puppy's. ...Bites were legal then.

    All I know is that it was before Tyson turned pro.

    Mines not so cut and dry 1956 Maciano retires in 55. Is he still considered champ even though he retired or do I go with Patterson who became champ late in 56?

    I should of researched more Marciano retired on April 27, 1956, 2 months after I was born.
    So for me its Rocky Marciano.
