I notice everyone is tipping him to win his next fight by ko.

So i am wondering where did all the hype/respect come from?

Can someone fill me in on his background and accomplishments?

    Thanks

    He's **** hot.

Known for having wars at amateur against guys who have gone on to be decent domestic/European-level operators (sam Sexton for one) as a Heavyweight, now a big Light Heavy with reputed power, enthusiasm and ambition, and has the gift of the gab as well.

Everyone's excited about him as far as I can see, no one is saying he will be an ATG (yet anyway :yep) but he certainly has a classy look about the way he operates.

He is a 3 time ABA Heavyweight champion and I think that wasn't even his natural weight.

he won his first aba title after very few fights somewhere around the region of 10 then he won it 3 years in a row as a heavyweight, and had an amateur record of 47 fights 40 wins 32 by k.o. he was also a multi nations gold medalist and a four nations gold medalist., he beat the likes of sam sexton as an amateur, since turning pro he has boiled down to 12 stone 7 but has managed to keep his heavyweight power k.o.ing 9 out of his 13 opponents.

    hope this helps :good

Bellew appears technically better. No doubt it would become a war, Clev has 0% defence, and Bellew has shown he can 'war it up' with Heavyweights (admittedly as an amateur) so I doubt he'd back down.

Then it comes down to class and power. IMO, Bellew has the better punching form. Clev is more proven at this stage, but I think he'd play into Bellew hands (literally) and walk onto his power punches.

Bellew stoppage between 8-10 in a FOTY Contender (we can all dream):good

He has done a great job getting the weight down and keeping his power...:yep

I said on another thread the other day, if Nathan Cleverley fights Tony Bellew the way he fought the other night he is in big big trouble...:yep

Tony Bellew will KO Nathan Cleverley...:deal

Bellew had a very impressive amateur career and has looked very impressive as a pro. To be honest I am more excited about him and Clev fighting than the DeGale and Groves fight.

i was too, until Clevs performance on sat. if bellew hits as hard as everyone says, he will KO Cleverly i think - him and any other lhw at world level - he seems to get hit way too much

Why is everyone on Bellew's di*k... He hasn't fought anyone as a pro yet!! Clev is a world class operator and would have too much for him.. That was a tough unbeaten fighter he fought on Saturday. Until he fights better opposition and proves himself the jury is still out for me.

Ajisafe's akward style will cause him alot more problems that what alot of you think!!! TRUST ME... He should eventually get to him and take him out tho

  14. I noticed Bellew at the Mag 7 show. Just as Cleverly/Murat was about to start and the camera was on Cleverly you could see Bellew's ugly mug clearly in the background. Then a bit later on I'm sure I saw him texting during the fight, not even paying attention

I bet he'd have loved to have been in there. Cleverly/Bellew has the makings of a fantastic fight, but they can let it brew a little while for me. A couple of years from now it could be a Benn/Eubank 1.
