i went for louis and marciano. i think louis is too crisp andd fast for ali not to get caught by something huge and louis is the best finisher of all time, also louis was the mastwer at countering the jab, and ali never threw the jab properly in that it didnt come back to his face and his right hand was low when he threw it so i reckon its inevitable that louis catches him eventualy. and marciano because of his strength and willpower, im not sure ali could dance for 15 rounds, although i would pick ali to win in 12. still a pickem fight though

Lol ok, I guess the 'impossible' bit got me going :) I also wouldn't bet on an Ali knockout, but stranger things have happened, especially against the kind of firepower those guys would bring.

Ali has seen it all. Foreman, Frazier, Shavers, Lyle, Liston...all huge, huge punchers.

I voted for him to beat them all bar Marciano, I would probably favour Ali there in reality though tbh. If Marciano had some more size i'd seriously consider betting on him though.

If Pep had more size, I'd consider betting on him against Ali too. :yep

I just mean because he's technically a heavyweight but today he wouldn't be (or hardly). It's like, on paper he has a great chance imo on a styles match-up, but because the dynamic has changed (division-wise), i find it difficult to pick him over Ali.

I find it hard to pick against Ali, period. The man was so elusive and fast in his prime, it's almost unfair that he also had dynamite punch resistance and a heart to rival that of Evander Holyfield. I give Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, and Joe Frazier the best chance.

I think so, very high possibility, though, as mentioned beforehand if Holmes had Futch in his corner, and possibly Tyosn with D"Amato, they had a strong chance of beating prime Ali.

Well **** it, if Ali had Buster Douglas in his corner than Tyson ain't got a chance.

    No.

The heavyweight division, much like the lightweight, middleweight and welterweight divisions, is too deep for any one fighter to be able to beat all other fighters who ever fought there. Ali, despite his brilliance, showed enough flaws in his prime that I am confident that he would definitely occur more than one loss if he was placed in a round-robin of the best heavyweights in history.

The number of fighters who I believe would defeat anyone who ever fought in their division is tiny - and it usually has to do with the historical weakness/lack of depth in that division rather than any fighter being unbeatable.

I don't think anyone who ever fought at minimumweight would beat

Other than those four, I see no-one who would defeat everyone who fought in their division.
