Martinez vs Williams 2: Catch weight 157 lbs?

Here is my problem with it.

If Williams wins the title at a catchweight and becomes the middleweight champion, he would then go on to defend that title more than likely against a weaker opponent at the full weight of 160.

So the argument arises why cant he just challenge martinez at the proper weight. Is it because he needs some sort of advantage to win the belt and beat the opponent?

You see it's the choosing of opponents for catchweight, that I find bull****.

Take manny pac for example, he can catch weight cotto but he doesn't need to catch weight clottey. It's just ridiculous.

Just ask yourself if Mayweather or Mosley came up to 147 and won a title at a catchweight what would you guys have said?

If Mayweather or Mosley won a title at JMW at a catchweight what would you guys have said?

The funniest thing is that Williams didn't ask for a catchweight vs. Kelly Pavlik, but he does for Martinez. I guess he considers Maravilla more dangerous.

Don't be a clown Intergender or Transgender or whatever it is you guys call yourself.. I like this fight and I'm still hyped it's happening.

Willy goes on about most feared, and he'll fight at any weight class bla bla.. Just last year he was supposed to challenge Pav for the exact same title he's challenging for again, but now he wants a catchweight... For what, both guys will still make this weight, it's about bargaining power and some kind of commodity he thinks he is...

i could give a ****, but call it like it is Intergender...

 

i think this time PW will be using more his jab and will stay outside.
my heart with martinez but PW isnt as unidimensional as Pavlik, and i believe he learned from his last fight.
sergio will relay on his speed and movements around the ring but if PW stablish a good jab he has a very decent power to keep martinez in bay.

 

Probably a Williams demand that was holding the fight up so Martinez said **** it and i will KO you at 157 then.

 

I have no great probs with catchweights.
But i wonder who asked for this? Pretty sure it wasn't Martinez?

now Williams fighting Martinez at 157 for the 160 title?

What the hell is going on? I mean, I understand why Manny's team would want to weight drain Margarito, but why on earth is Williams demanding 157? It's not like Martinez is a HUGE Middleweight, Martinez wasn't even a huge Light-Middleweight! In fact on fight night Williams weighed more on the unofficial scales then Martinez.
This catch weight makes less then 0 sense! What's going on in Williams' head?

 

Im starting to really like Martinez because of this attitude but Williams is just getting on my nerves and i want to see him out cold twitching after this fight.

First the money now a catch weight. What is it with fighters when they start getting some fame? They think they can basically rewrite the sport and its rules.
I seriously have no respect for PW anymore.
