I agree but none of those fighters are stars yet either. Not to sound too harsh but if it was the most talked about fight, it's not saying much, honestly.

I also think Fury/Chisora could wait though. As for Macklin/Barker, it's probably the same. All six fighters are at a level below their potential, so I think it makes sense to wait.

Why wait? There's a case for Groves/Degale but the other two...silly to wait.

    Smith-DeGale won't happen.

Smith wins his next fight he wins the Lonsdale belt outright and will no doubt vacate so as not to fight DeGale.

So Groves and DeGale face up for the vacant title.

  5. people seem convinced abou groves in this and ive seen quite a bit of the both and i still favour james for this , i dont like the way groves holds his hand so low he looks like haye the way he moves round the ring

Warren don't want this fight for DeGale yet. He knows Groves is set to fight three weeks before his December show on the Haye v Harrison undercard and is obviously needed for the undercard to have any credibility, due to Hayemaker not really having any other fighters.... so Warren knows this and is completely being unreasonable to expect to have two pretty big fights within three weeks.

Warren is using this as a smoke screen so people don't think he's protecting his golden boy.... when he clearly is.

They are putting this fight on a slowburn, build up, on the bus off the bus...:yep

Insults, slanging matches, fisticuffs at pressers, we will see the lot in the build up to this contest...:yep

If they both keep winning, the doors will keep opening... They will meet each other in good time, when there is more money and more titles on the line...:yep

Chunky wins this all day long for me...:deal

I know - let's just **** the British title off and don't have anyone good fighting each other until both hold world titles.

The whole idea is flawed for domestic level fights. Not every half decent pair of lads have the potential to be Leonard and Hearns.

Just get it on FFS, we had the light middle farce all fighting bums and calling out De La Hoya, we've now got a growing collection of middles that have faced nothing but bus drivers. Unlike at world level, it seems the only fights being made domestically are at HW.

If lads need to be shielded away from each other to make it, they don't deserve to be there, simple as that.

It's not that I don't understand the reasoning behind it, but I find it baffling that any fan actively encourages good fighters not to fight each other in case one of them gets beat?

Winning and losing is a part of life. The winner gets further opportunities, the loser has to dust himself off and come back stronger.

Why do so many British fighters fall to bits after their first loss?

Because they've never had the proper upbringing, they don't know how to cope because they've had it too easy.

Frank usually likes to promote and he's given a deadline. It's a slim chance if it happens.

These guys are using each other to be famous but they probably don't want to fight. Not yet anyway. Sad state of affairs.
