More for the guys that saw him in his prime (but anyone can answer), but who do you think resembled Robinson the most in his prime. As, i didnt see Ray in his prime, a wild guess for me would be Roy Jones JR in terms of refelxes, speed, combos, accruacy and power. I'm guessing Ray wasnt hit as much in his prime as he was in his later years, i imagine he could move out of the way ala roy jones and not get hit, of course he was not effective at this when he was older and relied more on his skill. ive seen both robinson and jones decribed as "marvels" and that is why i see robinson in his ww prime as being similar to jones in SOME aspects.

what about the rest of you?

SRL was stylistically much more similar to Robinson than Jones. My answer would without a doubt be Leonard. And if I had to pick a nr. 2... perhaps Hearns, actually.

personally leonard always reminded me more of Ali than Robinson, the circular movement, shuffling, even the atunting of opponents, that was all Ali.

    Yes, very much so.

In modern times, I think it's a combination of Leonard and Hearns. Leonard had the speed and fluidity but didn't consistently use the jab, straight right hand, and hook in the traditional sense. Often times Ray's most effective right hand was a looping right hand. It was a great punch but different from SRR's. Tommy was more down the pike with his one-two, and downhill for that matter, then he'd lean over and throw a vicious left hook to the body but he certainly wasn't as fluid as SRR.
It shows how great Robinson was that it's difficult to really pin down, but I agree with Bodhi that Ike Williams is the closest we've seen.

We're asked to specify "Since SRR," which I interpret as disqualifying Robby contemporary Ike Williams from consideration. Looking at Robinson-Angott, the stalking Ray does somewhat resemble what Hearns looked like at WW, not an elusive dancing master, but a predatory shadower. No, I do not believe SRL was a mimic of Robby. To me, he had a style that was more a composite of past performers, aggregated into a method of his own. In that respect, I agree with Angelo Dundee's assessment, which disclaimed Cosell's attempts to reincarnate Ali.

Great pick. Has restored my faith in you as a poster. Very intelligent pick. Asnwers about Leonard and Jones are superficial at best. Stylistically, Williams was similar, though his footwork was a big issue.
