he didn't get enough publicity so they don't know he's a muslim.

and what? it's true, not all of them, but a ****ing lot of them, I don't have a problem with it perse, i disagree with all organised religion, and I wouldn't even mind if they knew some boxing... but damn some of them have clearly only watched khan and paquiao fights (since khan started training with him).

    just go to that site...

I didn't say all muslims support him cuz he's muslim, i'm saying his muslim fans on that site clearly only support him for that fact, how do I know that? well just have a conversation with them about any other boxer or boxing subject other than khan...

lol well that's the point, you wouldn't say Phillipinos don't know boxing, but you can't deny that there are many who only follow pac because hes a successful phllipino, and they have no interest in boxing outside of that.

He got plenty of publicity after the stunt he pulled earlier this year. Why did you go to the website? Are you a Khan fan?

I think you're equating his national heritage with his religion. He comes from a minority community in the country so it's no surprise if people from that same community have a affinity and make up some of his fanbase.

Where you're going wrong is saying "his Muslim fans" let me tell you that he properly has more fans who are Hindu and of Asian origin then Muslims. It's like saying Arreola and his Christian fans, When it should be his fans of Latino origin. The only difference with that example is that Muslims are also a minority in the UK whereas Christians are not in the US. But you get the drift.

Muslims come from all races and if Khan was only being supported by Muslims and Muslims only followed fighters who subscribed to their religion then as Scotty already said Anthony Small would have a bigger fanbase.

No, it's British Muslims who are guilty of this, not all of them as I said, but the ones who support him solely for his religion. Any other fans he has is because they like him as a boxer, but if you think those I speak of don't exist, again, just go to that site or say anything negative about khan in a youtube video (ronz92 comes to mind, who says khan has a good inside defence because he holds on really tight)

and for the love of ****, how many times do I need to repeat myself, I didnt say all muslims supported him, nor did I say the ones who did know nothing about boxing, I just said, like pacman, he has those fans who clearly know jack**** aout boxing and CLEARLY support him because he's muslim. look at the ronz92 quote and tell me if that logic would be welcomed on a knowledgeable boxing board. he would be torn to pieces.

Let me put it this way, remember those beer guzzling Hatton fans who literally thought he was the king of the world when he was WBU champ, and didn't really know anything about boxing?

they're a little like those guys.

Whats wrong with Khan being called 'British Pakistani'. His origin is Pakistan. FFS this is nothing new. I have plenty friends who's parents were born here but still identify themselves with Jamaica as thats there origin. It's really no big deal.

West Indies will always be my cricket team and only half my family is Jamaican origin. It's no crime. It baffles me why people get all nationalistic over petty little things?

Was Naseem wrong for using the Yemen flag in his fights?

Oh and society itself is asking what origin one is all the damn time. Fill out any Job Application form and it wont just as what race you but origin as well.

What I don't get is why the term Paki is considered racist? Surely it's just Pakistani abbreviated. I don't mind when I get called a Brit :think

Because the racist who says the word 'Paki' is looking at the skin colour and thats it. U think they dont call an Indian or Bangladeshi 'Paki'?

I dont think those who went 'Paki' bashing stopped to ask the poor Asian dude whether he was from Lahore or Bombay.

It may have started out as an innocent abbreviation but the context in which it has been used over the years it what makes it offensive. I doubt many people have ever shouted "Brit" at you while attacking you in the street (physically or verbally) based on your race alone. It's about connotations and malicious intent rather than the word itself.

Granted, but even in a positive context its still considered offensive. If I said "I met a lovely Paki lass the other day" I'd be on the wrong side of a tirade of abuse from the Political Correctness police.

Danny Williams is a Muslim who fights, where's his mass support? Anthony Small is another Muslim who fights, what about him?

And that Amirfans.com is a site that’s made up predominately of just that, Amir fans. Not boxing fans. Amir fans that won’t know/care **** all about the sport, and are only there because of their adulation for him. We shouldn’t expect them to have the know-how that we do. Just like you have hoards of Pacquiao fans that think he’s the greatest fighter to have ever lived. Hatton followers that are made up of football fans, who travelled in their thousands because they actually believed Ricky would smash both Mayweather and Pacquiao. And then you have the *****s, 50 Cent listening groupies that actually believe "all roads lead to Floyd Maywather" and that he’s the greatest fight to have ever lived.

Get it in your head, mate. If a fighter is popular, he’ll soak up passionate support from people that are of similar social background to him. It happens. It's natural. Picking out and criticizing Khan and his fans for this only, is stupid.

Of course you’ll get some that’ll support him because he happens to be Muslim. Again, it comes down to people supporting a person due to their affiliations with them. Yuri Foreman and Salita, do they not have a strong Jewish following in the States? It ****ing happens. Get over it. You’re acting like it’s an outrageous thing to do.

And for the record, there are Amir fans that support him because he happens to be Asian. Sikh and Hindus support him. But at the same time, there are plenty of UK Muslims that aren’t Pakistani (comprising of Indian and Bengali), and they despise him.
