I kinda wondered the same thing... :think I guess even Toney understands that getting the **** kicked out of him in a boxing ring would pretty much be the end of the gravy train for him.

 

this is ridiculous... toney has been chasing the clits for years and nothing came of it. you can't lump him in with haye and floyd because toney never ducked anyone. haye talked **** and then ran, floyd did likewise. and both of them are in their athletic primes. toney, miles and pounds past his prime weight chased the top guys in divisions that he had no right campaigning in and you cannot tell me if wlad said ok when toney was chasing him years ago, toney would have said no. he never chased anyone and then turned down a fight with them when they said ok.

you can't expect this guy to have a microphone in his face every day of every week. he gotta eat right? he's probably quiet because he's figuring how what he wants to do. i mean, by right he should retire. either way wlad would destroy him at this point but i still doubt toney would say no if wlad put a contract out to him. you can only go on what has happened in the past to conjecture about what might happen in the future and never has a fighter laid out a challenge to toney that he has rejected.

 

would love to see the klits call him out now. How ridiculous would THAT be.

 

Would have been intesting fight, but in name, but in reality, it would be a huge mismatch!

 

He probably gave up after calling them out for 5 years and them still refusin'.

 

Toneys trashtalk increased the longer he was out of the ring.worse thing is some fools still think he has the style to trouble forgetting sam peter outboxed him

 

He will start trashtalking again when he runs out of money. Then he'll be broke again and will start talking himself into another payday.

 

:good James Toney gets too much hate. The guy is one of the most underappreciated fighters ever. He fought everybody, and had a pleasing style to watch. He talked a lot of **** but he backed it up (or at least tried to) unlike some other guys I can name.

 

Good point. People just seem to hate any guy who has a big mouth. Toney had great skills and went after the best. I'm 100% sure he'd fight any champ at any weight he could make. Not saying he'd win, but in this era that's something to respect.

 

I think Toney has enough money for now.

 

Tssss... he has to know his place in the boxing world. If he chases titles at CW, SMW or MW that would be or was credible!! He ain't **** at HW and has no right to fight either Klit!! Great fighter at all classes from MW to CW, but a total **** up at HW today... Maybe he should fight another Batchelder or receive another fight against Oquendo (who was clueless against old Mormeck)

I'm no hater, but Toney fans need to be realistic about their man...
