Mugabi Duran Jaime Garza Darren Corbett (certainly at British level, when in the mood was a pretty good finisher) Gerrie Coetzee (thoughts on this)
Here's a fine late career demonstration of "killer instinct by Duran. Referee Ron Lipton blew the call the first time Roni Martinez went down, but El Cholo knew right away that Martinez was toast, and signaled that to the audience in raising his arms. He was right, and Lipton was wrong. With only 15 more seconds left in the round when action resumed, he got the job done. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmnbZQ5S-2Q[/ame] Years earlier, Virgil Hill fell down during a title defense against Bobby Czyz. The hapless Tony Perez ruled it as a slip, and Czyz, deferring to Perez's flawed judgment, failed to follow up an obvious advantage. In the ring following the bout, Hill admitted that it was a legitimate knockdown, and that he was in serious trouble. Duran would have paid no heed to Perez's ruling in that situation, any more than he did Lipton's. He knew when an opponent was in distress, and when he wasn't. (This quality might make him an excellent referee if he got himself into a semblance of decent physical condition.)
I did not mention Graziano, Dempsey or Duran on my list because they were already mentioned, but for me Rocky Graziano is the definition of this thread. Scartissue
