The only joke about this fight is the fact that its for a title at 154lbs. First of all vacant titles are a joke. Second of all, if you want to win a title at a weight you fight at that weight. And this goes for everyone from Leonard to Pacquiao. So I dont consider this a fight that means anything towards titles.

However I do believe this will be a big boost for Pacquiaos resume. Margarito holds an enormous size advantage in this fight. And I never sell Pacquiao short predicting he'd take care of Cotto in 5 rounds, but this fight is intriguing from the point of view that has Pacquiao been taking alot of damage in his welterweight fights, referencing his face and injuries after Cotto and Clottey, and what if Margarito is able to walk threw his punches and land on Pacquiao? Can Pacquiao go 12 rounds with a puncher as big as Margarito?

This fight is dangerous for Pacquiao. And my only worry is Margarito makes Pac look vulnerable so that a fight with Mayweather loses its shine.

The closer it gets, the more I'm looking forward to it. Pacquiao always tries to put on a show so it should be an entertaining bout.

Pacquiao will be too quick of hand and foot to get caught often by Margarito. However, he needs to stay off the ropes...Margarito gets some success with those bodyshots and uppercuts, Pacquiao could be in for a long night.

You're rooting for Margarito because the midget had Cotto kissing his family members going into the 6th round like "yeah im probably going to die"

agree with all your points mw.

Catchweight title fights are bull****. Paul williams is one of my fave fighters and im pissed the martinez fight is at 157.

Marg pac will be an intriguing fight and im looking forward to it. Im just worried margo will beat pac (which is very possible) and/or floyd goes jail and we never get to see that fight. Though at this stage that fight is kind of losing its shine

Dangerous fight without question. PAC should win but what is expected to happen doesn't always play out the way it should. It should be entertaining to say the least.

It will be a 'dangerous fight' up until pac wins, then he wont recieve any credit, just like every other fight hes had since his morales/jmm days.

I agree that although the title is pretty meaningless, this fight does a little something for Pac's legacy. Pac is a part time fighter at this point and has been a pro fighter for 17 years with plenty of wars under his belt and well above his optimal weight. So he is facing alot more than just Antonio Margarito in that ring.

Also like you said his eyes are starting to feel the wear and tear of the fight game and he bruises up more and more easily with every fight.

It is unfortunate that Marg has little/no credibility.
