Hang on ill read your last response after i stop laughting over this one.. ya rekon Briggs and Jones have padded records and havent proven themselfs?
You must have splinters in your arse from all the each way bets you've had on this fight and it's still weeks away. I'll put it straight on the table - I reckon Green will win by stoppage in the 6th round. Put up or shut up! What's your prediction? Not an essay. Just your prediction of the result!
StiffFag, you don't have to agree with anything I say; nor do I with you. You either have some childhood issues that you are yet to deal with or it may just be a simple case of tourettes. Whatever it is, try not to be so sensitive. That's great if you're happy with Green's next fight. In fact, I encourage you to go to the fight or at least buy it on ppv. You should pick up one of those limited edition Green Machine caps while you're at it. Green and Katsidis are both Aussie boxers holding a version of a world title so the comparison is a valid one. The reason for you wearing that avatar for years is obvious - you have a crush on him. Why else would anyone have a pic of Ahmed Elomar posing in a Kents singlet? ****ing weird, not that there's anything wrong with that. Your posts have reminded about the much debated topic of nature vs nurture. In my opinion your case is a bit of both. You are most likely the result of inferior DNA coupled with a degenerate upbringing and lifestyle. You had no hope from the start and beyond, so your inability now to hold a civil discussion or put forward an argument without a "doochbag" reference is understandable. I promise I'll try not to hurt your feelings from now on, as long as you keep your homoerotic fantasies to yourself and change your avatar.
I'm surprised most of you haven't heard much about Flores. He's been an up and comer and then a fringe contender for years. It's true though that he is still somewhat of an unknown entitiy as his career has followed the now common trajectory of well managed and highly touted prospects where their records are a bit padded as they groom them for a big fight or a crack at a title. The difference with Flores is that he seemed to work his way into a position to get near a title or fight an eliminator, and then the right opportunity never arose. So he's kinda been treading water and working as a sparring partner for the elite guys. But he's a good opponant for Green. They televised a few of Flores' fights on Foxtel a couple of years ago and he had a couple of guest spots commenting on ESPN. He's a decent fighter: well schooled, relaxed and pretty athletic. I'd say he'd be amongst the top 10 or 15 CWs in the world at the moment. It's a difficult fight to pick because there are so many unknown factors. This makes the match-up more interesting. Firstly, Green hasn't had a decent scrap in years so it's difficult to gauge how good he is now. And it's difficult to know how big a role the weight will play. I think most boxing pundits overseas would probably see Flores as a favourite. If Green wins I would rate this in his top 3 wins. I don't think Green's critics could really ask for more as an opponant because in reality everyone knows Green is no cruiserweight, he's a light heavyweight, and he's no legit title holder, not that any title really means much these days anyway. It's clear Green made a decision a couple of years ago to choose the path of least resistance to making the most money he possibly could from the fight game. And who can blame him given that there are few fighters on the planet that can consistently earn as he can. At a guess I'd say there'd be less than 20 or so in the world that can earn in the millions every time they fight. Green tried to fleece the public with his last couple of fights and is now reaping what he sowed with the criticism coming at him. But you guys gotta remember that as cold as it sounds professional boxing is really only about money. And also Green, who is essentially a LHW pretending to be a CW, is fighting a young, undefeated, well skilled guy who has 20 pounds on him. Given that few of you hardcore boxing fans have heard about Flores, and possibly a lot of the other top CWs, you can't knock Green too much for preying on names that are well known by the casual Aussie fans such as your Siaca's and Briggs' and therefore a guaruntee public interest.
TCCoxsuka I can't leave the Green didn't win the title one on Jones undercard. Dominguez corner stepped on the apron (before bell) with waving towel in hand- immediate disqualification, if not accepted as stoppage by ref! For some that talks about having a fight you obviously know nothing about the rules but hey talk is all you seem to do.
The difference with Flores is that he seemed to work his way into a position to get near a title or fight an eliminator, and then the right opportunity never arose. So he's kinda been treading water and working as a sparring partner for the elite guys. You obviously seem to know a heap more than any of us average Joe's here on the subject of BJ Flores so if you would be as kind as to answer a few questions on said subject it would i'm sure be greatly appreciated , Question 1 , I saw the sparring he done with Jirov and what was the thinking behind rocking the old dude in that manner ? Question 2 , I read about 2-3 years back that BJ had sparred with Britains David Haye and afterwards Haye proclaimed BJ as a future World Champion who hits harder than a boy named SUE ( well i made the Boy named Sue **** up but it was along those lines if i remember correctly ) , Has BJ Retained that power during his inactivity ? Question 3 , IS there any truth to the rumour that he ducked out of a title shot v Thomaz Adamek about 18 months back before TA moved to Heavyweight ? Thanks in Advance for your response Machine . :good
That seems like the issue to me as well. Flores is a more fundamentally sound fighter than Green and much bigger as well, but he shies away from contact and has no killer instinct whatsoever. If Green can get to Flores early, then Flores will be completely unaggressive and Green should be able to cruise.
As you alluded to at the end of your post, the opportunity DID arise. He was the mandatory to fight Tomasz Adamek for the real cruiserweight championship of the world, and he didn't sign the dotted line because he didn't think the money was good enough.
Briggs hadn't fought in three years and Jones is shot to **** and everyone knew it coming in. They're only good wins if you look at the names and not the circumstances.
Well from what I can tell this is Green's biggest fight since his comeback. Obviously Jones Jr is more of a name but Flores is more established as a contender in the cruiserweight division. Hard fight to call. We will finally see where Green is relative to elite cruiserweights. If the fight is at 200, it's a pick-em, with Flores probably slightly favored. If there is a 190 or less weight-limit then Green will win because Flores will be too weight drained. Flores might have troubles making 200 actually.
Thanks in particular Machine (plus Brikchaust and Ludwig) for filling in a few gaps for us on Flores. Sounding more and more like a worthy opponent choice, and potentially at least, a good fight.
I never said id put money on Green so not sure what your on about with that one, all im doing is analizing BJ as an opponent to have a punt on and you ladies get ya knickers in a knot. My inital prediction is that BJ will stop Green or win via UD. I dont trust Green so im a bit suspect now giving this more thought, being boxing anything could happen so ill still stick with my gut feeling as ive mention in previouse posts and ill put some money on BJ to win. :good
