There are dozens upon dozens (hundreds and beyond in reality) fighters whom have dozens of stoppage losses on their records.

They show up, put on a decent but not do or die effort and upon being hit hard a few times they'll go down a time or two. Either they'll rise a second or two too slowly, stay down, or rise to be stopped by another short volley of punches.

More or less boxing is often almost an exercise in repetition with fighters who know their "role" in the grand scheme of things.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what fighters were brutally stopped numerous times? Truly devastating losses.

Augie Sanchez comes to mind for me.

Extremely promising up until the Hamed fight, he beat Mayweather as an amateur and was a very hard puncher.

When he fought Hamed he ended up leaving the ring on a stretcher however (literally) and was then brutally cold cocked in 30 seconds a little over a year later. His license to box was revoked following that loss.

Bob Satterfield comes to mind first, R. Think he was flattened 13 times.

That's who I was thinking. He was out cold most of the time too.

Recently Enzo Maccarinelli was flattened pretty badly by Frenkel and Afolabi.

I'll throw out a name that doesn't get much press. Pete Rademacher. Among the guys Pete fought during his 15-7-1 career was Patterson for the title in his pro debut, Zora Folley in his 2nd fight, Doug Jones, Karl Mildenberger and Archie Moore. In those 5 fights he was dropped a total of 24 times. But don't think of Pete as a punching bag because he kept getting up. He also beat George Chuvalo, Willie Besmanoff, Lamar Clark and finished out his career beating Bobo Olson. I bring him up because of his obvious heart. He wasn't a guy showing up for a payday, those were hard KO losses where a lot of people would just stay down. Pete wanted the win and paid the price by taking a pasting in a few of those bouts. And remember, this was all done in 23 bouts.

Lotte Mwale may not have been brutally stopped as many times as some othere guys, but in two particular fights, against Saad Muhammad and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, he was BRUTALLY ko'ed by each guy..both were from potentially career/life threatening bombs by both men. These two losses just couldn't have done Mwale any good.

Marvin Johnson vs Saad Muhammad, Michael Spinks & Leslie Stewart, the second Leslie Stewart fight being one of the most brutal massacres that has taken place after the 1980's. He also absorbed a bad body beating from Mustafa Muhammad.

Alejandro Lavorante is not a contender, but his string of KO's is horrific. Archie Moore dropped him in 10 and he was removed unconscious from the ring on a stretcher but recovered in his dressing room. To brave for his own good, Lavorante then took a helecious beating at the hands of Muhammad Ali only four months later, and was knocked out in five. Two months after that he was knocked out in six by journeyman John Riggins. He died of his injuries some two years later, having never regained consciousness.
