Career high pay day for Groves. Counter offer from Hayemaker was less than DeGale got for his fights so far.

Presuming theres no options, should Groves camp accept the offer?

Hell ****ing yes. He's a pansy if he doesn't. **** all this "oh, fight on our show instead!"

It's like being invited back to your girlfriend's mansion and being all "why don't we go back to my apartment instead?" ****ing ridiculous.

The same goes for Degale. I understand why neither guy wants to fight on the others' show. I just don't want to point the finger when it's not a big ****ing deal.

Groves called DeGale out. When he did it he should of said "I want to fight James DeGale.....but it has to be on a Hayemaker show"

In fact, it was Warren who said he wanted the fight next for Degale knowing there's no way it would be accepted in a 48 hour window. It's promotion, nothing else.

No he should chicken out and do more youtube vids. Groves should understand no one cares for him if he is not prepared to back up his talking. The whole Groves stuff is getting really sad now.

I'm a fan of both fighters, but i'm on Franks side for this one
Both guys should be getting career high paydays for the fight, Hayemaker haven't offered this but Frank has

Lets see it happen in December!

Were boxing fans....on a boxing forum.....boxing is a business as well as a sport.....so were going to talk about it. Nobody is asking him to put his bank statments on here.

I can't see this fight getting made for some time. The actual purses aren't going to be the stumbling block at all I don't think - it's all about whose show this ends up on.

Both Warren and Hayemaker are going to want this fight on their own cards, and I can't see either one budging. This fight has the mainstream crossover potential (think Haye - Maccarinelli or Haye - Harrison) to gather a lot of interest amongst the general public and add a whole load more PPV buys. If it's on Warren's card then he stands to reap these benfits, and the same for Hayemaker if it's on their card.

I think there is a lot of business to be done to get this sorted and the talk of purses are a bit of a PR game. Warren says "We'll give Groves this much to come fight Degale on one of my cards" and of course Hayemaker say "Well, we'll pay Degale more than that to come and fight Groves on one of our events". Warren and Hayemaker's main concern isn't securing the best purse for their fighter, it's being able to have this big fight on their own card where they can make the most money for it. That's why I think it's going to take a lot of negotiation to get this sorted - if you was Warren, why would you let one of your best prospects go and risk losing while beefing up another promoters bill and helping them to sell PPVs? You want to ensure that you get your share of that PPv money, as it's your fighter helping to sell that PPV!
