Warren has a record of doing this, i.e. making an offer in a timescale he knows he won't get a reply in. Just puts the prospect of the fight in the public domain to kick start interest. Haven't been very impressed with Adam Booth in particular of late, but in this case Warren wasn't expecting a reply anyway!

    Good question.:think
You would like to think Sky would want DeGale v Groves too so would be understanding of the situation.

Hayemakers current plan seems to be going for promotional domination one crappy show at a time.. As soon as their figurehead cash cow retires, what future do they have? They need to take a gamble and this fight with DeGale is their chance to make an impact

I barely understand what you've written. But I’m not pulling anyone up. This is a discussion forum, yes? Rob made a point and I am discussing it with him because we disagree. You make a point and I reply – this is also called a discussion.

My opinion on the topic has been stated quite clearly, but I also have an opinion on the way Rob seems to be obsessing over the fight. The same as I have an opinion on the quality of your posts.

You’ll notice I post most often to talk about fights, analysing styles and match-ups, and as Max Kellerman put it “geeking out over the sport.” For the politics and who’s ducking who, well I’ll leave that to all these people who don’t work in the industry, have never put a fight on and have no legal background in contract law. They know much more than me. Or the lawyers, it seems.

As for stalking, I reply to Slip, Mandanda, Losfer, GazOC and plenty of others more than either Rob or yourself. I actually like Rob and think he’s a good poster in general, but shows the worst of boxing fans when things don’t go the way he’d like. That’s ok, but it makes him look a little unhinged at times.

You however – well we’re not internet friends, are we? But it’s not really a problem since we don’t know each other.

I can't speak for everyone else, but Warren and co haven't paid me a visit (thankfully).

It’s not intended to be. I’m not suggesting anyone’s uneducated in general, but it feels like some posters think they’re owed something by the boxers and promoters. I’ve said this to you a few times, Rob. If you go completely overboard in defence or while attacking something, it’s hard to come back down to a normal discussion.

I just don’t see how one fighter/promoter deserves more criticism than another in this case. Both want the fight on their terms, neither one is prepared to budge. If Degale takes the British title from Smith or it becomes vacant, then I expect them to fight for it.

If there’s a real offer, with DeGale and Groves headling the card for a British title fight, and one doesn’t want it, then we’ll talk about ducking. But I just want to talk about the fights without getting into contracts, purses and who deserves what.

Rob you just need to calm down here. You seem to be off on a moral crusade like you were with Limond and the WBU stuff.

Then try and be a bit more realistic about how the sport works...

when i think about that still pissed me off. Everyone but Beetson bottled it big time.

There was a thread I found with 6 or 7 slagging of the WBU and Derry Matthews....and those same posters saying good luck willie.
