God...people like you remind me why I was so happy when Fedor lost. A complete refusal to acknowledge that any other fighter could come anywhere close to the great glorious Fedor.

The fact is that Fedor has had two fights in the cage and has never fought under the unified rules. Not only does Couture know how to make the most of the cage but his skill set would test Fedor standing (Couture lacks KO power but his technical boxing would be better) and on the ground (ELBOWS).

I honestly think you are pretty wrong. Randy is the ****, but people like yourself need to remember he is a light heavy who blows up to fight at heavy. He has been successful in part because of great skill, and ability to out think, and out strategize his opponents.

It seems more fair to compare Randy to great light heavies imo. See Couture vs. Noguera, where Noguera pretty much schooled Randy everywhere in a similar way that Fedor schooled Nog everywhere..

Fedor is just very sound in all aspects of MMA, and to top it off, he's a bonafide heavyweight.

If we could throw on another 20 lbs of natural weight on Randy, I think things would be more interesting.

Randy would get schooled on the ground and especially standing when it comes to Fedor. Fedor is basically Igor v 0.2 when it comes to his standup game. Now Igor v Fedor standing up would be interesting, I honestly wouldnt know who would win between the two (probably Igor)

 

fedor stands and trades or throws and trades. terrible fight for randy. even his wrestling will just get him subbed.

 

Fedor wins by strikes in round 2.
