I'm no fan of Warren , but if what I've read is correct, then Groves is ducking

For someone who some think should be considered as a top ten ATG, it's pretty average. Flea does a much better job of breaking it down than me though.

I agree top 10 thats but he is the best fighter of the current era

Before the Mosley fight Fleaman was picking Mosley. Before it got made he said he was avoiding Mosley....after the fight he changes his avi to Hopkins and says Mosley is to old and shot.

Yeah, easy to say that about Margarito after Shane whooped him but your boy Floyd had nightmares about him. Titles don' mean **** anyway so all that stuff above aint **** when compared to Pac's resume. Barrera is a better win than any on Floyd's resume and if Pac had not stepped up to welterweight then your boy would still be retired claiming he's the greatest of all time because he's undefeated. If he's the best fighter of this era then he should prove it. He can't.

Pacquiao is the best fighter of the current era easily. Floyd doesn't want to fight a live body at welterweight.

I agree, I give Mayweather respect for his achievements from 130-140 but he hasn't wanted to know for the last few years at 147.

Even if their records are fairly even Pacquiao is surpassing him simply by showing far more balls. This guy Margarito...we couldn't get Floyd in the ring with him...there was a huge call for that fight a few years ago.

    He's like half a foot bigger than Pacquiao...the guy doesn't give a **** he's a true warrior.

Ah, I wouldn’t pick on Flea for that. I picked Mosley too because I thought he was still live enough to give Floyd an argument. And while Floyd played a big part in him looking so poor, Shane was huffing and puffing from the second round on. He wasn’t getting his punches off once he hurt Floyd - a clear sign he was faded. Add to that his iffy performance against Mayorga and you can argue he was pretty past it. The Mora performance simply proves it.

It all brings us back to why Floyd didn’t fight Shane after the Vargas rematch, why he didn’t fight Margarito when offered a career high purse, and why he wouldn’t fight Cotto after the Mosley/Gomez fights. Basically, cause they looked like too hard a night’s work. Instead he fought Oscar (who he looked average against) and Hatton (who was too small to fight at welter and too crude to beat Floyd).

Shane's been past it for years. Pretty obviously..what is he 38 years old...and he relies on handspeed and outfighting his opponent? Common sense.

It's become evident he looked good against Marg because he's straight up and down and easy to tag. Anybody a little tricky and he struggles.

Hell Shane's prime was probably at 135lbs 12 years ago...

^He also had a long lay off. He had a lay off before fighting against Mayorga too and he looked really bad in that fight.

There were people on the GF asking what was up with Moselys body for the Mora fight, it didn't look cut enough and they thought his training camp must have had problems.

    He's 3 ****ing 9!!!!!

Shane's not improved a great deal over the years. Essentially he's the same fighter he was 10 years ago. Paws out a few jabs to find the range for a right hand...and boom with the right hand. Occasional left hook. He's a pure gunslinger at mid range and always has been, nothing much to write home about skills wise.

Stands to reason he's long past his best. Probably closer to 10 years past his best than 5. He looked most impressive at 135lbs...same fighter but faster and relatively more powerful, unfortunately he didn't have the comp back then to prove how great he was at that time but he certainly looked good.

Floyd UD was an easy pick every time. Shane did have his big chance to KO Floyd though, and blew it.

Same fighter, right? But more athletic. If anything Shane just bounces on his feet more these days which is nothing but a waste of energy at 39 years old.
