Be fair to Clev, though. This guy's given him no end of stick, then gets shown up himself. He wouldn't be human not to react. To be honest, I thought he was more restrained then he might have been.
Great post, exactly what this thread is all about :good Tony never set anything up. You were right and I was wrong, I assumed he was making mistakes by not taking it seriously, everything pre-figh pointed to Tony knowing he had to impress and he didn't.
Interesting post as always slippy, but to be fair to Bellew I think his head was in the clouds, young Alex arthur style. He was so intent on looking devastating on TV & impressing everyone at ringside & dare I say us ESB'ers he lost his focus & his fightplan went right out of the window. Paul Applebey was the same, blowing out everyone in sight, had a tough night against Esham Pickering when he couldnt get the job done early, but DIDNT learn. Went over to Ireland, thought he could just blast Lindsey out but gassed against a good fighter, & came unstuck,(even if the stoppage was a shocker) Bellew is in Applebeys position pre Lindsey justnow if you ask me. Hes got a fright, but came through unscathed. Its up to Tony to learn from it, & if he does? Thats OK. The man can jab, & should use it more. No more Enzo Macarinelli trying to kill a guy with every shot, all he needs is a little patience. Cos like Paul Appleby, hes got teriffic potential. He just needs to forget about impressing us lot, but when SKY give you the big build up like they gave Bellew tonight? Who can really blame him for going gung ho?
LR I agree, but hopefully I've shown I can make the adjustments :good I blasted the thread out in a stream of consciousness without thinking too much about it. This was a learning thread for me :yep
I read through most of this thread and other threads on tonights fight and TALK ABOUT KICKIING A FIGHTER WHILE HE IS DOWN.
im hoping you will go onto bigger and better threads, and this will be a learning curve and you will not underestimate the intellegence and savviness of your fellow poster which as we know was a slight step up from the posters you have dealt with in the past
Flea Man is ducking your response, he has a fragile Glass Hand and I doubt he'll be making any further threads. He has no heart for this thread anymore and has done a runner.
It's a shame, Flea seemed to be building up to some really great threads, but this has definitely derailed that now
He has a good pedigree though, we cant right him off yet, i dont think he took this thread seriously, thinks he's knocking on world class threads, needs to learn his trade in the brit forum for a few more decent threads, might wanna have a look at some of the top boys in the european forum before looking at the established brit forum posters
True but I think hes a bit overrated and one dimensional as a poster to make it at the top level of the Brit forum. He always neglects his technical knowledge and talks about his chin, old fighters from the 1800's and Thai ladyboys, you need a far more rounded postset to make it at this level. I can see him getting exposed unless he changes computer.
Learn to throw a jab. Dont follow people round the ring, cut the ring off......................................................... actually there is so much after tonight atsch
Lets hope the next fight isnt against eastern european civil servants or african subsistence farmers Quality domestic opponents now. Although looking at boxrec, pickings are slim at LHW. Whats this Darren Stubbs like?
