"What the ****, Addie, you're 21 years of age and you haven't heard of the great Mando Muniz? You ****ing clown, get off this forum!'

Yawn. Ricardinho, keep up with the conversation, I had seen footage of this Muniz but didn't recognize his name when mentioned by Anarci.

Why are you dissing Mando Muniz?? He was a pretty good fighter just ask the great Jose Naploes(robbed 1st time) or a HOF like Carlos Palomino who went life and death with Muniz.
    Among his victims
Hedgemon Lewis w 10 a great talent and excellent boxer
Ernie Lopez Tko 7 would have been champ in other eras Dannys big bro
    Manuel Gonzalez w 10
    Pete Ranzany ko 6
    Clyde Gray ko 9
    Bobby Boogaloo Watts ud
    Oscar Albarado ( Draw)
    Adolph Pruitt ko 8
    Jimmy Heair w 12

As a young Prospect was competetive with the great Emile Griffith(dont believe everything boxing records tell you Addie)

Who's dissing who? I swear you speak a different language.

Mando Muniz is a fairly obscure fighter, especially in the mind of a 21 year old student of the game, so I don't feel begrudged that I forgot all about him. I have only seen one of his fights, and as you rightly pointed out, it doesn't do him justice.

Well maybe its just cause your such a smart ass that im picturing you saying great with a patronizing tone. Armando Muniz might be obscure over there but out here his name still commands respect from knowledgeable fans. Check out his first fight with Napoles or his 1st fight with Palomino in which Muniz was ahead going into the last round.

I'll definitely try and track down these fights, Anarci, and I'll get back to you once I've seen more of him. I didn't mean it to sound like I was dissing him, I'm sure he was a great fighter in his own right, he's just not one I know anything about.

Just a few other recommneded fights to view addie with the guys that i listed.

Johnny Tapia-Paulie Ayala was Foty in 99. i recommendedi it to GP and he loved it.

Juan Meza-Jaime Garza this was short but very sweet!:bbb

Yaqui Lopez-Saad Muhamad another FOTY im sure youve seen it.

Robert Quiroga-Kid Akeem another FOTYneither fighter the same after this war.

RIchie Sandoval-Jeff Chandler not a great fight but Sandoval put on a showcase against an atg to win the title.

Gabriel Ruelas-Jesse J Leija awesome display by Ruelas looked like the 2nd coming of Duran in this fight.

Jesse Leija-Azumah Nelson II Great boxing Leija himself had told me he was in the zone this night, his career best performance.

Frankie Duarte-Albert Davila blood bath and a great fight.
Gaby Canizales-Miguel Lora rock em sock back and forth, which was surprising considering Lora was a classy boxer type:bbb

Hector Lopez- Kostya Tszyu- Controversial i felt Lopez pulled it out although it was close. The scoring was bull**** and too wide for Tszyu
this is one fight where you dont want to look at box rec as a source.

Joey Olivo- Myung Woo Yuh i know Yuh is one of your favorites another close fight that i thought Olivo won.

PS i think i should start a mexican american fighter thread.

Addie your the one that acts like a boxing historian... you need to be thick skinned. I remember you busting my chops because of the praise I gave Canelo and then you jumped on the bandwagon afterwards

Its not my fault you can only dish it out and cant take it

Besides you misquoted me which is a bit cowardly

Agreed, Although Olivaes was much more consistent with his offence and stronger IMO, making him just nick it.

    Agreed.

I also thought Herrera vs Castillo could have went to either boyo.

You Mexican's are all overgrown children.

I'm really passing myself off as a ****ing Boxing historian when I'm routinely making threads like 'Jeff Chandler: Educate me'. "Hey guys, I've only just watched Fighting Harada for the first time, can you tell me a little bit about him?". Constantly referring to myself as a young fan and a student of the game is also passing myself off as a Boxing historian.

And this **** about Saul Alvarez. Where to start. You went as far to say that Saul Alvarez was the best fighter on the Mayweather/Mosley bill after Floyd, when of course this was an outrageous statement to make considering the lad had never fought anyone with a pulse. You were hyping up this kid to be the next best thing since Pernell Whitaker, and I was like, "Dude, calm the **** down". I've jumped on the bandwagon? I'm sporting a Canelo avatar, I've made threads about this kid? I said I really like him and I think he has potential, I was being measured and realistic, two words that can and never should be associated with you, Ricardinho. You're a flag waver.

    Dish what? Take what? :blood
