Get ****ed! It's called constructive criticism, I'm still a massive Bellew fan.

I like Bellew and still rate him as a top prospect but last night was ****. He is a million miles away from fighting anywhere near Clevs standard.

bob ajisafe is a 10 fight novice.bomber bellew should be blowin this type of Opposition away if we are to believe the hype surrounding him.based on that performance he lacked basic boxing skills yep a touch of tony jeffries about him .

Not seen the fight yet myself but I have always thought Bellew was highly over rated by some on here. Not to say he won't improve though. To be fair seven fights ago I thought Cleverly was unlikely to amount to World class material but in those fights since Oakey he has come on a tremendous amount. For me he is the top British prospect not currently in possession of a World title. Maybe Bellew needs to make the same sort of changes Cleverly and Khan made by looking at his training team?

Very disappointing. As you say, he didn't look to set anything up. After a few rounds I though it was fairly obvious that his left hook was landing and hurting Bob but Tony neglected it, instead favouring the big, predictable right hands. Also he failed to put his punches together and put himself in a position to be tied up. It didn't appear to be a very intelligent performance.

The worst part of it, for me, was that he got frustrated with himself very early in the fight. To be fair I don't think that he would get frustrated against better opposition as he would know there's not a massive gulf in ability. However, becoming frustrated only made his job harder and led to him not thinking.

The ref was **** though. He didn't give one warning for holding.

I would hardly call it excessive holding, Tony's whinging actually started to annoy me.

one of the main problems was tony's attitude it looked like tony was gonna get rid of bob in round 2 but it never happened and has the fight went on bellew attitude was as if he was thinking why is this guy still in the ring with me he shouldn't be lasting this long so from then on bellew seemed to be sulking all though the fight and moaning because his normal way of blowing opponenets out werent working.

this will do tony good tho it will knock his ego down and he will learn from this.

Tonys mindset was obviously 'I should be blowing this type of opposition away' and that's whatade him so frustrate IMO.

He would've been better off boxing for the win ether than getting wound up and allowing Ajisafe back into the fight. I had it 115-112 at the end, with Ajisafe doing a lot of the cleaner work down the stretch.

I'm sure Tony will learn from this. But the one-year push for Clev will be called off now I reckon, Tony should allow himself a healthy stone and move up to Cruiser IMO, his legs look like they need it.

I've lost none of the enthusiasm I have for Bellew last night, have just lost my enthusiasm for what was obviously going to be a good build-up to a fight that everyone has discussed for a long time but now looks further away than ever HOWEVER with Clevs mindset he would obviously not keep Bellew moving, he would look to fight. Bellew didn't look great but he certainly wouldn't get as frustrated as last night.

Hopefully we see some well-rounded performances from him from now on. With his pedigree, it's hard to believe he's as one dimensional as last night.

Still need to watch this (been called in for server maintenance), but by the sounds of it it was a very disappointing performance by our Tony. Based on the comments I've read, it almosts sounds like a case of naivety or arrogance on his part.

I'll give it a look over tonight, but I hope he can rebound from this and step up his game. Having the power to blow opposition out of the water doesn't mean it should be the only thing you rely on.

I'd agree with this...after his performance against Murat I wouldn't be slagging anyone off. Murat was as slow as sludge but was landing on Cleverly when he felt like it...and more so as the fight went on. Somewhere down the line someone with a bit of class is going to be putting the lad on his arse.

As for Bellew, I can't work out what the **** was wrong last night, he is demonstrably better than that. His best weapon aside from his power is his footwork and that was all over the place...unbelieveably bad performance but you can't judge a fighter on one bad display. As someone pointed out on another thread Cleverly, at roughly the same point in his development, struggled as badly against Vegas as Bellew did against Ajisafe last night. You just have to put it down as one of those things, learn the lessons and move on.
